Kemi Olunloyo, a retired investigative journalist who is known to be controversial has stated that Chioma’s status can not be upgraded to that of Davido’s official wife. According to her, Davido is already married to a Togolese American woman who goes by the name Hermadine. She maintained that Chioma will be in a polygamous marriage if Davido considers her for marriage.

She further disclosed that she has a copy of the marriage certificate issued during the union of Davido and Hermadine.
