President Bola Tinubu has declared himself a bona fide indigene of Anambra and is looking forward to a retirement home in the South-East state.Mr Tinubu teased his audience after he received a chieftaincy title during a one-day official visit to Anambra on Thursday.
“Many of my friends are from Anambra State, and I have seen many of them today. Going forward, we are not just friends. I am now a bona fide son of the soil—one of you—your own son,” Mr Tinubu said.
He added, “Maybe my friend and your governor, Charles Soludo, should find me a plot of land for my retirement home after service.”
Mr Tinubu’s nemesis, Peter Obi, is a former governor of Anambra.
Meanwhile, Governor Charles Soludo has thrown his weight behind Mr Tinubu for reelection in 2027.
