Unknown gunmen have killed Stanley Nnaji, a former judge of the Enugu state high court.
Nnaji was shot dead on Sunday evening in Enugu while driving in a black Mercedes Benz SUV.
A video posted on Twitter by an eyewitness showed how the assailants double-crossed the judge’s car, dragged him out and shot him.
The incident was said to have happened beside the Enugu Diagnostics Centre, by Ebeano Tunnel.
Commissioner of police in the state, Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu confirmed the incident, and said he has ordered a manhunt for the gunmen.
In a statement signed by Daniel Ndukwe, spokesperson of the police command, the commissioner said: “The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by doctors on duty and deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.”
Nnaji hails from Mbu, Isi-Uzo LGA of the state.
