Governor Oyebanji appoints Ogunmoye as acting chief judge

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has appointed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as the state’s acting chief judge.

This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s media aide, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.

Mr Oyebode said the appointment was in furtherance of the powers conferred on the governor by section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

According to him, the appointment of Mr Ogunmoye took effect on November 5.

He said the new justice replaced the former chief judge, John Adeyeye, who died on Monday, November 4 after a brief illness.

Born on November 6, 1963, Mr Ogunmoye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 and was appointed a judge on April 1, 2010.

Mr Oyebanji wished the acting chief judge a successful tenure.
