A fire incident at the female hostel of Federal University, Gashu’a, Yobe State, has destroyed the building and burnt students’ property worth millions of Naira.
The incident occurred around 1:00 pm on Saturday, according to eyewitnesses.
It was said that the inferno was caused by a gas cylinder explosion.
It was learnt that many students were taken to hospital in the town for treatment after inhaling smoke.
A similar incident had recently occured at Yobe State University, Damaturu, where a female hostel was completely razed down by a late evening fire.
The university authorities are yet to react on the incident.
