Meet Mark Bryan, A 61-Year-Old Married Man Who Always Wears Skirts And Heels

Clothes make it easy for anyone to differentiate between a man and a woman. Men wear trousers and shoes while women wear skirts and heels. This is the way we have grown to know things. Although there are people who dress in clothings typically worn by members of the opposite gender, but we barely see them in a shirt, skirt and heels. Mark Bryan does that with pride.

Mark Bryan, a 61-year-old American citizen who resides in Germany is a robotic engineer. He decided to start wearing skirts and heels three years ago to challenge gender stereotypes. He wears skirts and heels at home, to the town and even to work.

Unlike most crossdressers like Bobrisky and Jay Boogie who are transgender, Mark’s Instagram page reads “a straight, married guy, that loves Porsches, beautiful women”.

Mark has three children from his 11-year-old marriage. His wife mostly makes suggestions on what he should wear and his daughter sometimes wishes that she could borrow his heels.

He further revealed that when he first started, he wore heels and trousers and sometimes women’s trousers, until his wife suggested he wears a dress or a skirt since he has “nice legs to show”. However, he decided to wear skirts because dresses seem too feminine.

He described the mixed reactions he gets from both genders. While women, mostly in their 30s to 40s compliment him, men do not, rather they ask questions or make comments.

Mark believes that it is unjust to bind styles into gender as it creates limitations for people who want to enjoy styling. He emphasises that people should wear whatever they feel like insofar as they are comfortable.

What are your thoughts about Mark Bryan?

Oloture movie Saga, Tobore Ovuorie replies Mo Abudu.

Journalist , Tobore Ovuorie has released a statement to address claims over the movie, “Oloture”.

The statement follows;

MS. TOBORE OVUORIE
RE: EBONYLIFE’S CLAIMS OVER THE OLOTURE FILM

  1. My attention has been drawn to the recent video recording by Ms. Mo Abudu. Initially, I was unable to view the recording as Ms. Mo Abudu (Aunty Mo) had blocked me on Instagram since last year. I was however able to view the recording from other platforms that reposted the video.
  2. Whilst I no longer intend to join issues on social media in respect of this matter, I wish to set the records straight for the sake of posterity.
  3. Firstly, EbonyLife claimed that the right to use my life story was legally obtained from my erstwhile employer – Premium Times. Unfortunately for them and as I had earlier informed them through my lawyers, the human trafficking investigation in my story had commenced prior to my employment with Premium Times. It is disheartening that Aunty Mo could in fact mention that she got the right to my life-story (that has impacted on my life since then in many ways) from my ex-employer.
  4. Secondly, I am in shock that Aunty Mo would claim that I was contacted prior to the Movie in one breath and in another breath that the story is not about me but about several other faceless journalists who had done what I did but did not publish their experiences.
  5. If Ebonylife had given me full disclosure from the beginning, we would not be where we are, at this point. Yes, Oloture is an important film to be made but must be done the right way. A Movie about women victimization cannot end up creating further victimization.
  6. Oloture is an ADAPTATION of my work and life-story. I experienced the investigation, the process, and the risks, upon which the movie is based. I also single-handedly authored the publication the Movie relied on. The publication of my experience is what gave birth to Oloture. A Movie about sex trafficking does not need to be centered around a journalist and it does not need to play out the plots of my published story.
  7. The question is, why is the open credits for the story of Oloture bearing Mo Abudu, Temidayo Abudu, and three others? How ethical is that for an adapted story? Even the alleged end credit, how appropriate is it? This is not the standard practice in the industry and Ebonylife should know better.
  8. Aunty Mo’s claims that Kenneth Gyang has had to deal with daily and weekly harassments from me is completely false. On October 4th, 2020 Kenneth Gyang confessed in the published Premium Times story that he became aware of the Oloture story, two weeks before the release of the film. A film director- whom I had worked with on a 30 minutes documentary on this same story in 2016, told Kenneth the actual source of the story and had warned him of the consequences.
  9. Kenneth Gyang contacted me to grant an audio interview to DW, but my lawyers had advised me against further media engagement on the subject. I also considered Kenneth’s disposition when he asked for this, and rather than mincing my words in an interview that came through Kenneth Gyang, I decided not to grant it. It would be morally wrong for me to grant such interview when he is the person that released my contacts to the reporter who reached me then.
  10. Aunty Mo’s claim that I am doing this because of money and because Oloture traveled far is another deliberate attempt at mischief. The question is whether the decision to tag this movie a fiction was a deliberate attempt at maximizing profit? The allusion to the fact that my claim for compensation was outrageous when I am claiming infringement of intellectual property right, shows that a lot needs to be done in terms of re-orientation for the entertainment landscape in Nigeria.
  11. My obvious interest had always been to be given appropriate credit for my work, far above the compensatory claim. My lawyers’ letter to EbonyLife had categorically demanded for:
    • “Compensation for copyright infringement in the sum of $5,000,000.00 (Five Million US Dollars).
    • The immediate inclusion of a proper open credit and end credit in the Movie, acknowledging the adaptation of her work in line with industry standard and practice; and
    • Restriction on any further exploitation of our Client’s published life story by your good self, your company and its related companies or affiliates, in any form, including our Client’s post -investigation struggles and experiences, such as her nervous breakdown episodes, which she personally shared with you on set, on or about 6 June 2019 during the recording of the special edition of your program titled: ‘Moments With Mo’ at the Ilupeju recording studio of your company.
The open and end credits of the Movie should be re-edited to read as follows:
    Open Credit:
“THIS FILM IS LARGELY BASED ON EVENTS WHICH HAPPENED TO A NIGERIAN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST IN A 2014 PUBLISHED INVESTIGATIVE STORY”.
    End Credit:
“THIS FILM IS AN ADAPTATION OF:
WEST AFRICA| UNDERCOVER INSIDE THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING MAFIA, AN INVESTIGATIVE STORY BY TOBORE OVUORIE PUBLISHED BY ZAM MAGAZINE, NETHERLANDS, ON 22 JANUARY 2014 AND SUBSEQUENTLY BY PREMIUM TIMES, NIGERIA”.
  12. On July 3rd, 2020, my father; Senior Apostle Jack Mit Ovuorie went to be with the Lord and I was informed on July 4th, 2020. My dad and God were all I had. I sent messages out to all the contacts on my phone subsequently, to inform them to please remember my family and I in prayers; including Aunty Mo, at that time (before the release of Oloture). I have NEVER asked Aunty Mo for money. Rather, she sent me a message to send my account details for her to send me a token towards my dad’s burial. I did. And she subsequently sent me N100,000.00 (one hundred thousand naira). My former editor at the Guardian newspaper, Mr. Fred Ohwahwa also sent me some money on hearing my dad had passed on. Several former bosses, and colleagues and people I have NEVER even met came through for me. I was and I am still very grateful to all of them. Having watched the video, I now begin to wonder: The N100,000 sent by Aunty Mo, was it more than a gift? Was it intended to buy my silence when the film would be released?
  13. So many women around the world are trafficked as claimed by Aunty Mo, but who else, and I also mean undercover journalists, have same experiences as published before the production of Oloture and as depicted in the movie? Making of a film on exploitation should not itself be exploitative.
  14. I almost died (and I saw death) when I took a 7-month long journey to investigate human trafficking. Now, I am going through the ordeal a second time watching my life story on TV, without full credit or compensation and the subsequent campaign of calumny.
    Signed
    Tobore Ovuorie

Nigerian Superstitions.

Superstition is a belief or practice based on ones trust in luck or other irrational, unscientific or supernatural forces. Here’s a list of some of the superstitious beliefs I knew about while growing up.

  1. When egrets are flying, if you wave your hands and sing a particular song, then white spots will appear on your fingers.
  2. Selling items on credit first thing in the morning will bring ill/bad luck.
  3. When ones palm is itchy , it means there is money coming.
  4. If you put your lashes in your parents shoes, they will forget the offense you committed.
  5. If your teacher offends you, soak garri for five days and as the garri swells, so does your teachers hand.
  6. Don’t sleep with your legs touching the wall ,as this inadvertently means you’re in a meeting with witches.
  7. Calling out someone’s name at night could attract the angel of death to the person.
  8. Rabbits foot for luck cause they live underground.
  9. Facing mirrors at night creates a doorway for the devil.
  10. The more intently you gaze at a cherry popularly known as agbalumo in Nigeria , the sweeter it becomes.
  11. Don’t let anyone step on your saliva as that could lead to sore throat.
  12. If bird poop lands on your head, it means money is coming your way.
  13. Whistling at night attracts evil spirits.
  14. Sweeping at night is bad cause one is sweeping riches away.
  15. If your tooth falls off throw it on the roof and run inside the house before it comes back down.

Let’s continue on sex and coronavirus…

I wasn’t using condoms with my partner before coronavirus, should I start now?

Alix Fox: The answer depends on why you weren’t using condoms. If you weren’t using condoms because you have both been tested for STIs, or you’re in a heterosexual relationship prior to menopause and are using another kind of contraception to prevent an unplanned pregnancy, then that’s fine. But if you weren’t using condoms because you were relying on something like the pull-out method – or you were taking chances with STIs – then it’s even more important that you use condoms now.

What about sex with new people?

Dr Alex: I certainly wouldn’t advise having new sexual partners at the moment, because the risk is you could pass on the virus.

Alix Fox: Don’t forget as well, some people who are carriers of the virus won’t have any symptoms. So even if you feel absolutely fine… you could still pass on the infection to someone and they could pass it on to other people via close contact and kissing.

Let’s talk about Sex and covid-19: is it safe to have sex during the coronavirus outbreak?

Is it safe to have sex during the coronavirus outbreak?

According to Dr Alex George: If you’re in a relationship… living with that person, and sharing the same environment, it shouldn’t change your situation. However if one of you is displaying symptoms of coronavirus then you should maintain your social-distancing and isolate, even within your home. In an ideal world everyone would stay two metres apart – even in their own house, but we realise this may not be realistic.

There is another explanation to the question above. Alix Fox: It’s also really important not to assume that if you are experiencing mild symptoms of coronavirus it will be the same for your partner. So, if you’re showing any symptoms whatsoever do try and stay away from your lover.

I kissed someone I recently met, and they’ve gone on to develop symptoms. What should I do?
Dr Alex: If you’ve kissed or been in contact with someone who you think has gone on to develop coronavirus, make sure you self-isolate.

Keep an eye on your symptoms. If you are developing symptoms, then be extra careful. Go online to the nhs.uk website. If your symptoms are so bad that you need medical support from us.

Alix Fox: We should be responsible with each other, and for ourselves in our relationships. If you’re somebody who has developed symptoms, and you know that you’ve kissed people recently, you should let them know. And even if you’ve kissed someone and they’ve got symptoms and you haven’t, you should also self-isolate.

Let’s talk about Sex and covid-19: Does the virus spread through sex?

Does the virus spread through sex?

The virus can spread through saliva, mucus or the breath of those who have it, along with contact with hard surfaces.

“If you are going to touch each other’s genitals it’s likely that you will potentially be kissing at the same time – and we know the virus is passed through saliva,” Dr Alex George

Dr Alex is an A&E doctor and former Love Island contestant and says “any possibility of transfer of coronavirus – from your mouth to your hands, to genitals, to someone else’s nose or mouth” increases the risk of passing on coronavirus.

That’s why some public health officers recommend not kissing, wearing a face mask during sex and favouring positions where you’re not face-to-face.
It adds the virus has been found in semen and poo, which is why you should use condoms and dams for oral sex to minimise risk.
And given we’re supposed to be doing it after most things – washing your hands for more than 20 seconds or using hand sanitiser before and after sex is recommended.

After 26 years, this innocent man has been released from prison.

Eddie Lee Howard was wrongfully sentenced to death in 1994. Now, after decades of fighting, he has been exonerated.

Howard, who is Black, was sentenced to death in 1994, after being wrongfully convicted for the murder and rape of 84-year-old Georgia Kemp, who is White, in Columbus, Mississippi, according to the Innocence Project, which represented Howard.

Howard was initially tied to the crime by a doctor who compared bite marks on Kemp’s body to Howard’s teeth. But in August, the Mississippi Supreme Court recognized that bite-mark comparisons were not enough to tie him to the murder, and stated that “an individual perpetrator cannot be reliably identified through bite-mark comparison.”

“After reviewing the record, we conclude that Howard’s evidence as to the change in the scientific understanding of the reliability of identification through bite-mark comparisons was almost uncontested. Based on this record, we agree with Howard that a forensic dentist would not be permitted to identify Howard as the biter today as Dr. West did at Howard’s trial in 2000,” the court wrote in August.

As a result, the case was reversed, rendered and remanded. Howard was released from Mississippi’s death row in December, and he was exonerated on Friday, the Innocence Project said.

“I want to say many thanks to the many people who are responsible for helping to make my dream of freedom a reality,” Howard said in a statement. “I thank you with all my heart, because without your hard work on my behalf, I would still be confined in that terrible place called the Mississippi Department of Corrections, on death row, waiting to be executed.”

The United States has some of the highest incarceration rates in the world. By the end of 2019, more than 1.4 million people were incarcerated in the nation, according to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Black Americans are disproportionately affected, and in Mississippi more than half of the prison population is Black, according to a report by the Sentencing Project, a nonprofit criminal justice research organization.

Taylor Swift sexual assault verdict discussed at Supreme Court.

During Supreme Court oral arguments Tuesday in a dispute over campus speech rights, justices cited a 2017 jury verdict that awarded pop star Taylor Swift’s demand to be paid $1 by a man who was found liable for groping her.

The reference to Swift’s sexual assault case arose as the court wrestled with the legal significance of a college student’s request for a minuscule payout from his college for allegedly violating his First Amendment rights.

Both Swift and the college student, Chike Uzuegbunam, demanded only pittances from defendants in their disputes – a legal concept known as “nominal damages.” At issue in the student’s case is whether his lawsuit should survive in light of both his college having lifted its offending speech restrictions, and the small amount of money requested.

Justice Elena Kagan called Swift’s case “the most famous nominal damages case I know of in recent times.”

Addressing a lawyer for Georgia Gwinnett College, Kagan suggested the $1 that the pop singer demanded, while small in financial terms, carried potent symbolic value – and asked if the same principle applied in Uzuegbunam’s case.

“A few years ago, [Swift] brought a suit against a radio host for sexually assaulting her, and she said, I’m not really interested in your money, I just want $1. And that dollar is going to represent something both to me and to the world of women who have experienced what I’ve experienced,” Kagan said.

“That’s what happened: The jury gave her $1,” she continued. “And it was an unquestionable physical harm. But she just asked for this $1 to say that she had been harmed. Why not?”

Georgia’s Solicitor General Andrew Pinson, who argued the case for the state college, told the justices that the student’s nominal damages claim is not legally significant enough to keep the case alive after the school relaxed its speech policy. In effect, the school argued, Uzuegbunam no longer has the kind of injury that must be present for a court to step in.

The Department of Justice argued on the student’s behalf Tuesday, telling the justices that the small amount of money Uzuegbunam is seeking should not disqualify his legal challenge.

Uzuegbunam brought his suit against Georgia Gwinnett College after school officials in 2016 repeatedly ordered him to refrain from professing his Christian faith on campus grounds, claiming that he had failed to comply in various ways with the school’s particularly harsh speech code.

After the lawsuit was filed, the school relaxed its policy in 2017 and asked the district court judge to dismiss the case as moot, which it granted. A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit affirmed the lower court ruling, prompting Uzuegbunam’s appeal to the Supreme Court.

A decision in the case, Uzuegbunam v. Preczewski, is expected by late June.

Gigi Hadid Sends Her “Zaddy” Zayn Malik the Sweetest Message on His 28th Birthday.

It’s “Z-DAY!” Gigi Hadid celebrated Zayn Malik’s birthday with nostalgic decorations, balloons galore and a sweet tribute on Instagram.

Gigi Hadid Shares First Family Photo with Zayn & Their Daughter

Gigi Hadid is celebrating her favorite Capricorn!

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old star put her love on display to share a sweet birthday tribute to her longtime partner, Zayn Malik, who turned 28 years old.

“Team No Sleep! Happiest birthday to our Zaddy baba,” Gigi captioned her post. “So special. Love you long time, thank you for makin me a mamma to the best girl ever. Wish you the best every single day.”

After welcoming their daughter last September, the couple has been keeping a low-profile. However, seeing that Jan. 12 marked a special occasion, the first-time parents decided to have a little fun. On Instagram Stories, Gigi shared behind-the-scenes photos of their “Z-DAY” set-up, which included several arcade cabinets, an explosion of balloons and many, many sweet treats.

According to an eyewitness, the retro video games were “Cruisin USA, Pac Man, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Marios Bros, The Simpsons and Donkey Kong.”
“The arrangements,” the eyewitness shares, “were multi-colored and also included various superheroes like Spiderman, Superman, and Batman. Everything was set up to make it look like a vintage arcade.”

Per the insider, Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, helped with the decorations—and knowing she had impeccable taste on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it’s no wonder Zayn’s birthday was one for the books.

Simply put, “It looks like Gigi wanted to plan something where they could stay home, but still have a fun celebration.”

The former One Direction member isn’t the only January baby in the family! The supermodel’s mom celebrated her birthday just yesterday.

“Celebrated mamma’s bday tonight @yolanda.hadid,” Gigi shared on Instagram on Monday, Jan. 11. “Every year, I think I couldn’t love, look up to, or learn from her more—and then I do. She’s the best mom and Oma we could ever ask for. So blessed. I LOVE YOU, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Wishing you the best year.”

Yolanda commented, “I love you baby, thank you for a beautiful dinner at home.”

Later that day, the former Bravolebrity took to her own Instagram page to reflect on her special day, while also gushing over being a grandma.

In fact, she was so excited that she originally shared a photo of her granddaughter’s face, something both Gigi and Zayn have intentionally avoided. Yolanda quickly deleted her post and added a new image of her and her granddaughter.

“My birthday blessings…,” she wrote in part. “When I woke up this morning and counted all my blessings in life this little Angel was ranked #1. It’s a whole new feeling, I’m feeling…, a part of my heart I didn’t know existed…..”

See who is getting married very soon…

elegant bridal dress hanging on window

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole will on Friday tie the nuptial knot with Miss Aisha Shinkafi Saidu, daughter of the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.

Bankole, who had divorced his first wife in 2017, had in the past few years been a much sought after bachelor in the circle of eligible spinsters both within and outside Nigeria. Friday’s marriage ceremony will draw the curtain on rife speculations regarding his matrimonial intentions since the divorce.

The bride, a lawyer and graduate of the University of Hull in the UK is a granddaughter of late political heavyweight and onetime head of Nigeria’s security organisation, Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi, Marafan Sokoto.

The bride’s mother, Hajiya Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu is Shinkafi’s daughter and a sister to the former Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Alhaji Aliyu Shinkafi.

A statement from the Bankole family of Iporo, Abeokuta disclosed that a quiet introduction between the two families had taken place a few weeks earlier to kick off the joining together, in line with Islamic and traditional injunctions.

At the introduction ceremony, the Governor of Sokoto State and Bankole’s successor as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal had led the groom’s family to the bride’s family home to seek her hand in marriage.

Friday’s event will be the culmination of a courtship that both families had kept very discrete. Political observers however note that the marriage would appear to straddle Nigeria’s great political divide as Bagudu is the Chairman of the APC Governors Forum while Tambuwal is the National Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.

The family advised that in keeping with the requirements of Covid-19 protocols, the ceremony will be low key, stressing that invited guests are to observe all health and safety directives at the event while appealing to friends and well-wishers who may not have received invitations for their understanding given the uncertainties of the present times.

Brian Austin Green And Sharna Burgess Take Their Romance To The Next Level With A Kiss.

Hawaii seems to have brought Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess closer together. The Dancing With the Stars performer proved that things are heating up by sharing a PDA pic on Instagram.

Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess must be dancing on air, because they’re now Instagram official!

Sharna did the deed by sharing a picture of the couple kissing on a balcony during their tropical vacation. She captioned the steamy pic of her shirtless lover, “H I M,” along with the lips emoji.

Needless to say, her Dancing With the Stars castmates are just as obsessed as we are. Britt Stewart replied, “Love this,” while Peta Murgatroyd said, “There they are” and “LOVE you guys.” Jenna Johnson commented, “Omg omg omg. I have no words.”

On Christmas, Sharna set off for Hawaii with the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, sparking rumors that the pair were getting serious. It appears to be the case, indicating their sun-soaked getaway was just what the doctor ordered for the newly single father of four.

Over the weekend, Brian, 47, revealed how he really feels about Sharna, 35, when speaking with Access Hollywood. The Masked Singer star said, “It’s all going really well right now,” adding, “It’s early on, so we don’t have any labels or anything, obviously, but we’re really enjoying each other’s company.”
After they met through their shared business manager, Brian feels their relationship has been going “great” so far. He said, “She’s super responsible and she’s super sweet and caring, passionate, fun to be around, so I feel blessed right now.”
Last week, his dancing partner was much more coy about their blossoming romance. Fans asked Sharna on Instagram about her love life and she responded, “Lol. Y’all don’t give up on this one… It’s almost impossible to fish out real questions amidst the ones about my relationship status.” She continued, “I say this with love and kindness… Let it go.”

“Our 9 Months And 2 Weeks Old Son Was Molested By His Father Who Is Into Men,” Lady Cries Out

As parents, you’re solely responsible in taking care of your children and making sure that no harm comes to them. Don’t be the harm that your child needs to be protected from. Even the Bible strongly advised parents to care for their kids as they were given to them by God and they answer to God when they don’t do this.

Abused Children don’t only suffer physical impacts from the abuse but they can also be affected psychologically. When such children grow into adults, chances are that they will be very disturbed.

A young lady who identifies as Onyinye Onome on Facebook, came online to share her current predicament as she called on Nigerians to help execute Justice for her son who was Molested by his father who she didn’t know was into men from the beginning.

According to her, she got married to him on 20th December, 2019 and they were blessed with their son who is their first child, obviously.

She went on to reveal that she had not always known her husband liked his fellow man from the beginning but with time she had her suspicions and feelings that he was.

Following this, she called his family members back home on 2 occasions to tell them that she felt her husband was into men but they just ignored her and didn’t say a word about it. They didn’t even try to defend their son.

She went further to express her anger upon discovering what her husband had done to their son and how she took him to a doctor for some check up and the act was confirmed.

Mrs. Onome went on to say that her husband who she called out his name to be Chukwutem Victor Inalu, had not picked up her calls but has tried in several ways to end her life after all this discovery.

Jude Okoye explains to DJ Cuppy why Zlatan blocked her.

Popular music producer and talent manager, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, may have explained to DJ Cuppy, why she was blocked by Zlatan on his social media accounts. Her inability to spell, maybe the reason, according to the elder brother of Peter and Paul Okoye.

DJ Cuppy recently made a tweet on her relationship with Zlatan. She tweeted: “10 months later and I sometimes still wonder why @Zlatan_Ibile blocked me on WhatsApp and Instagram without ever saying why; we were actually friends…AND “Gelato” was a hit!”

To which Jude Okoye gave a witty response. He replied: “You couldn’t pronounce Kapaichumarimarichupaco.”

In 2019, DJ Cuppy released a song featuring Zlatan Ibile. The song, ‘Gelato’ , was inspired by Cuppy‘s viral video with her father, Femi Otedola and her sister, Temi Otedola during their vacation in Italy.
The song was an instant hit when it was released in August of that year. However, things seem to have paled between Cuppy and Zlatan, for a long time now.

Kidnapped little boy found dead in his neighbour’s car at Egbu, Owerri in Imo State.

The day started like any other day. Shop owners who had returned from Christmas festivities or who did not travel were opening their shops for daily sales. Workmen were starting their daily hustle. Little did anyone know that the events of the day were going to be unheralded.

Tragedy struck at about 1 pm on Tuesday, Jan 5th, 2021 in the family of Mr Stevens.

Little Stevens Osinachi who lived with his grandmother at Ama-wire, Egbu, Owerri was sent by his aunt to buy sachet water for her in their neighbourhood. That was the last time anyone saw him, anyone but the agents of darkness.

His aunt and grandmother raised an alarm when the 5-year old Osinachi did not return as expected. They quickly organised a search, going from shop to shop asking about their little grandson and nephew. This proved abortive as everyone denied seeing him. It seemed as if Osinachi disappeared into the thin air.

Mr Stevens, a soldier in the Nigerian Army was immediately contacted and informed about the situation on the ground. He made some calls and an announcement about the missing Osinachi was made around the community. He even threatened to send men of the Nigerian Army to barricade the community and conduct a house to house search until his son was found. He pleaded that anyone with useful information about the missing boy should come forward and promised not to reveal their identity.

Two days ago, on Thursday, the 7th of January 2021, at about 9 pm, shouts were heard at the house of one Mr Izunna. Mr Izunna is a native of Ohaji Egbema of Imo state but resides at Ama-wire as a tenant. Mr Izunna who lives with his family is a generator repairer while his wife is a dressmaker. Both are neighbours to Osinachi’s family and run a kiosk to make ends meet.

Residents who heard the screaming ran out of their houses to find out what was going on. They were shocked to see the corpse of little Osinachi being carried away by men of the NPF from Mr Izunna’s compound.

This is what happened.

At about 8 pm, the alleged suspect, Mr Izunna reported to the police that he had perceived a foul smell from the car when he went to pluck paw-paw from a paw-paw tree close to the car. On a close look, he found the boy’s corpse already decaying.

On questioning by the Police, he admitted that Osinachi had visited his shop requesting to buy “pure” water but insisted that he sent him away since he did not have any “pure” water to sell at that point. He also added that he locked his gate after the boy left.

The car in question, which was properly locked, belongs to him, Mr Izunna and one must be left to wonder how the corpse got there in the first place especially as he claimed his gate was locked even though neighbours said he never locks his gate in the afternoon.

The chances that someone scaled the fence and entered into the compound is very small as the fence around Mr Izunna’s compound is very high and barb-wired.

However, one cannot forget the fact that it was Mr Izunna who had reported this matter to the Police himself.

There must be more to this story.

Mr Izunna has been reprimanded by the Police who has continued investigations and further arrest has been carried out.

He is married with three boys. At the time the corpse was discovered, his family was nowhere to be found. It is rumoured that they’ve gone into hiding for protection from the wrath of the angry youths. The youths of the community visited Mr Izunna’s compound and would have razed everything to the ground. It took the intervention of some people who reminded the youths that the house did not belong to Mr Izunna to calm them down.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity narrated the line of events which has taken place in her neighbourhood since Tuesday.

She condemned the heartless kidnap and murder of an innocent little boy.

When questioned on what could be the motive of the alleged suspect, she stated that she couldn’t tell although she had heard that Mr Izunna has been passing through trying times recently.

She also called on the Police to carry out their duties effectively.

Some other persons suggested that it may not be far from ritual killings or organ harvesting.

The turn of events is very surprising as many thought that stories like this are things of the past.

What is the way forward?
