Owo massacre: Nigeria sitting on time bomb, terrorists planting explosives in Southwest churches – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Monday reacted to the murder of worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb.

Primate Ayodele revealed that terrorists have planted explosives in so many churches in the Southwest and expect Christians to brace up because the Owo massacre will be a tip of an iceberg.

‘’This attack is more than expected, and they have planted explosives in so many churches in the Southwest. This is just the beginning; if we don’t brace up while we are praying, we should be vigilant physically. This is not a religious matter; these are criminals,” he said.

‘’I wonder if the government of the day is happy about these killings, I warned against religious crisis, and this is about to happen. Lives were lost in the deadly massacre, but what can the government do than make noise?’’

The cleric urged Southwest governors to create laws that should exit herders in the zone to wherever they came from to protect citizens from their evil practices.

‘’Nigeria is on a time bomb, we must not relent, we need to be careful of this herdsmen, someone who doesn’t look like a Yoruba should not be given houses in Yoruba land again, we need to protect ourselves, this is terrible.

‘’We must not allow this satanic terrorism in our southwest states, especially in Lagos; the government needs to involve all churches in this fight against terrorism because it’s just a matter of time before it spreads here.

“Let’s cancel herdsmen in the Southwest; they are terrorists. There should be a law to cancel them in South West, they are not part of us, they are foreigners and killers, take a look at their actions in the past, terrorism is within them.

‘’We are not saying anyone should fight, there are cautions Christians need to take, we need to wake up in South West,” he added.

137-year-old Olumo Rock custodian buried in Ogun.

The remains of the 137-year-old custodian of the Olumo rock, Sinatu Aduke Sanni, have been laid to rest in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The grandson, Samad Sanni, disclosed to journalists that the centenarian had been buried on Thursday night according to ‘Orisa Egun’ traditional rites.
The custodian of the international tourists site was announced dead on Monday June 1 at the age of 137.
Sanni said though Iya Olumo’s family is not from Orisa Egun, she was buried in that tradition having served the Orisa Egun in her lifetime.

He added that she was buried in her room at the family house behind the Olumo rock.
In his words, “We buried her Thursday night according to Orisa traditional rites. Mama belongs to Orisa Egun, and there is nothing we can do than to bury her in that rite.
“Anyone who is a member of Orisa Egun cannot be buried outside, they’re buried inside their house. So, mama was buried inside her room. All other activities will follow after the burial rites.

“Mama’s family is not from Orisa Egun, but it was when mama was looking for children, that was what brought mama into serving “Orisa Egun.”
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has said mama will be missed so much as she has become a tourist attraction herself.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Toyin Taiwo, who led state delegates to confirm the story of her death on Friday assured family members that Mama will be imortalised.

“When we heard of mama’s passing, as a government, we have to show up here and identify with the family at this moment to condole with them.
“Mama is a custodian of our history, culture and tradition. We’re going to miss her greatly in terms of the history and truth of Egbaland and in terms of the tourism because mama, herself has become a tourist center because of the way people jostle to see and heard from her.
“You should be sure that if somebody has made an impact on humanity, the government is going to do the needful”.
Taiwo added that many of the history heard from Mama have been documented and available at the ministry for reference.

Reacting to the death of her mother, Mama Olumo’s first child, Mosinat Amusa, said even though her mother died at a ripe age, she was still saddened by her passing.
Amusa who said she has passed the age of 90, however expressed satisfaction at the life her mother lived.
She expressed confidence that some of her children would continue from where mama stopped.

911 dispatcher accused of ending phone call with Buffalo supermarket employee fired.

A 911 dispatcher who allegedly hung up on a Buffalo, N.Y., Tops supermarket employee during the deadly shooting that took place last month has been fired, officials confirmed.
A spokesperson for Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz confirmed to The Hill in an email that the person had been fired after a Thursday disciplinary hearing. The person had worked for the county for eight years.
The Erie County Department of Personnel confirmed to CNN that up until that time, the dispatcher had been on paid administrative leave since May 16.
Details regarding the identity of the dispatcher were not immediately clear.

“She was yelling at me, saying, ‘Why are you whispering? You don’t have to whisper,’” Rogers said, according to The Buffalo News. “And I was telling her, ‘Ma’am, he’s still in the store. He’s shooting. I’m scared for my life. I don’t want him to hear me. Can you please send help?’ She got mad at me, hung up in my face.”

The shooting was one of several high-profile attacks that have taken place in the United States in recent weeks. Shootings at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, and at a hospital in Tulsa, Okla., have reignited calls for Congress to enact gun reform.
Eleven of the 13 victims were Black, and the alleged gunman reportedly espoused the racist replacement conspiracy theory in writings online before the attack. Gendron was charged on Wednesday with 10 counts of first-degree murder and domestic terrorism motivated by hate.

Gunman opens fire in Iowa church parking lot killing two young women and himself.

A gunman opened fire inside an Iowa church parking lot on Thursday evening, June 2, killing two young women before turning the gun on himself.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of the Cornerstone Church in Ames, Iowa, shortly before 7pm as a youth ministry program was taking place inside the church.

A statement from a representative of the church characterized the victims as being ‘young members’ of the church community, though their ages are not known. It is believed the gunman shot himself.

The representative described the shooter as an ‘adult male.’

Story County Sheriff Capt. Nicholas Lennie said that 911 calls reporting the shooting began to come in at 6:51pm on Thursday evening.

The shooting took place in the parking lot as people were inside the church attending the weekly Salt Company youth ministry event.

Two young women were killed before the gunman died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot, according to police. None of their ages or identities are known, but a representative of the youth ministry group said the victims were members of the church.

‘We are grieving deeply,’ said Mark Vance, of the Salt Company youth ministry at the Cornerstone Church, ‘Tonight, a tragic shooting occurred involving two young members of our Cornerstone Church community. It is believed that an adult male shot these two victims and then took his own life.’

Vance declined to give further details about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.

Churchgoers reportedly remained on the grounds and inside the church for hours after the shooting.

Photos shared online show groups of people hugging one another in tears at the scene of the shooting.

In a tweet, Iowa governor Kim Reynolds characterized the shooting as ‘senseless violence.’

‘Tonight’s act of senseless violence took the lives of two innocent victims at their place of worship. Kevin and I grieve for the families who have suffered an unfathomable loss.’

The shooting is another in a string of mass shootings that have plagued the US in recent weeks.

Qatari princess lay dead from suspected overdose for four days guarded by her Pomeranian dog.

The former Qatari princess who died of a suspected overdose after fighting a toxic custody battle over her daughters, reportedly laid dead from suspected overdose for four days guarded by her Pomeranian dog.

Kasia Gallanio, 45, whose billionaire ex-husband is the uncle of the current Emir of Qatar was found dead in her bed last Sunday May 29, in her luxury £2 million penthouse.

According to MailOnline, shortly before she died, she sent a video to her devoted cleaner Teodora Poma showing bags of clothes that she wanted to gift to her.

Bolivian-born. Ms. Poma, 43, now believes that her employer might have made the gesture to say farewell to her, knowing that she was possibly going to take her own life.

Ms Galliano also asked her and a colleague to come round and clean her seventh-flooroor apartment in the upmarket Spanish resort of Puerto Banus near Marbella. But when Ms Poma tried to message her back to confirm arrangements to come round on Monday this week, she got no reply.

She now believes it was because her socialite employer was already lying dead inside her home.

MailOnline also revealed that Ms. Gallanio’s devoted pet Pomeranian dog called Honey was with her when she died. The dog has now been returned to her daughters.

Ms Poma said. Ms Gallanio went to Paris in April this year to fight her ex-husband Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, 73, for the custody of their three daughters, two twins aged 17 and a 15-year-old girl.

But a French court ruled the girls should stay in France where their billionaire father lives after reportedly hearing that. Ms Gallanio was prone to nervous breakdowns and had visited detox clinics in her battle against alcohol use.

The court heard allegations that the prince had sexually abused one of his daughters, although he fiercely denied the claims, according to reports the in French newspaper Le Parisien.

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the claims that the girl was abused between the ages of nine and 15, and forced to sometimes share a bed with her father.

Other friends of Ms Gallanio are said to have dismissed claims that she drank or took drugs, and say that she lived a healthy lifestyle, enjoying yoga and running.

Ms. Poma was taking time off work to undergo medical treatment for a liver condition in hospital by the time her employer had returned to Spain.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the heartbroken cleaner said: ‘She was giving me a lot of moral support to get me through this treatment.

‘She was a really lovely person, very loving and a real fighter for her daughters. She was always saying that she wanted to be with her daughters and she loved them very much.

‘But because the girls were with the father, she could not see them for long periods.

‘When I was in hospital, she sent me a video showing stuff she wanted to give me. It was bags of clothes. She always used to give me stuff when she cleaned a wardrobe out.

‘She might have been saying goodbye by trying to give me all this stuff.

‘Kasia told me that she was going through all this trouble with the court case. She didn’t want to share all the details and I didn’t ask.

‘She was in quite a good mood, but my colleague and I could tell she was depressed. She wasn’t right.

‘At the last minute she asked if we could come back this week to get her flat sorted and I said I would try and organise it.

‘After that, she didn’t answer. I didn’t hear from her again. I sent a message and didn’t get a reply so I imagined that she might have gone back to Paris or somewhere.

‘When she didn’t reply, I thought, “What has happened here?”, but then I thought she had gone to see her daughters.’

Ms Poma said she was shocked to be told that her friend and employer had died.

Ms Gallanio who grew up in Los Angeles was found dead after one of her daughters alerted Spanish police after trying in vain to contact her mother for four days from Paris.

A porter with access to the penthouse unlocked the door for two police officers who discovered her at around 8 am on Sunday.

Forensic tests on Ms. Gallanio’s body are said to have been hampered by her having been dead for four days in her home in the Playas del Duque complex, a minute’s walk from the Puerto Banus marina packed with multi million pound yachts.

Spanish media has reported that she is believed to have had alcohol and ‘other substances’ in her body, suggesting that she had overdosed.

A spokesperson for Marbella Police revealed her death was not being treated as suspicious, saying: ‘The police investigating this case are not looking for any other suspects.’

She added: ‘The autopsy into the death of Kasia Gallanio was opened on Tuesday.

‘So far there has been no result. Reports in the media saying that forensic personnel have found alcohol or other substances have not been substantiated by official sources.’

Ms Gallanio’s twin daughters and her French lawyer Sabrina Boesch flew from Paris on Monday to identify her body.

One of the girls was seen visiting her mother’s penthouse on Wednesday morning before leaving in tears and being driven away in a chauffeur-driven car.

Ms Boesch told Le Parisien that her client had been left ‘devastated’ by the custody proceedings and revelations in court.

She said: ‘I think that, above all, she has died of grief’.

Ms Gallanio gave an interview in April, describing her life as like living in a ‘golden cage’, saying how she wanted freedom from her ex-husband.

She told Women’s World: ‘Money is a curse because it isolates you from a lot of people. It’s a different world.’

The former princess revealed she even had to sell her own jewellery as a result of her long and bitter divorce, despite living in her luxury penthouse.

She said: ‘I get criticised that I want money but I have to take care of my kids

‘Abdelaziz likes to control me through the children which I think is not very polite and only hurts them.’

Talking about the alleged abuse of her daughter she added: ‘Power, diplomatic immunity and money shouldn’t allow you to be able to do things above the law.

‘I hope it’s not true however when my daughter says it, I do believe my daughter

‘It’s a horrible story, something that hit me very hard. It’s every mother’s nightmare.’

French media reports have claimed Abdelaziz made his daughters sleep in the servants quarters of his palatial 50,000-square-foot Parisian home in the eighth arrondissement after they visited their mother until they apologised.

Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee: Kim Kardashian’s plea to attend rejected by Buckingham Palace.

Kim Kardashian’s dream of attending the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebration has officially been dashed.

Buckingham Palace refused to issue her tickets for the Saturday evening gala, despite reaching London days before the event.

Kardashian, 41, landed in the UK with boyfriend Pete Davidson, 28, earlier this week, and immediately sent her team out asking for tickets. However, the Daily Mail reports that the palace turned the American couple down, as did representatives at the BBC, the network which will be broadcasting the party.

A source told the Daily Mail Kardashian was determined to get tickets and didn’t even mind if they were “not VIP”.

The source said;

“Kim rarely gets turned down to attend any event, so this has been quite surprising, especially as she doesn’t visit the UK often. Kim and Pete love the royal family and really wanted to be a part of this special celebration.”

At the moment, it’s unclear whether the couple’s only reason for visiting London was for the jubilee celebrations. MailOnline approached Kardashian’s representatives for comment but was denied.

The Queen will attend the Derby at Epsom Downs on Saturday before the Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace. It’s unclear whether Kardashian and Davidson’s trip to London was solely for the Jubilee celebrations.

The event will feature performances by Queen, Diana Ross, and Nile Rodgers, as well as visits by Sir David Attenborough and David Beckham.

A public ballot was used to distribute 10,000 tickets, with 7,500 going to key workers, military personnel, volunteers, and charity for Saturday’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Members of the Royal Family are expected to attend on behalf of the Queen, who will be watching on TV from Windsor Castle while “pacing herself.”

The Queen oversaw the symbolic lighting of a series of beacons around the UK on Thursday night, capping off the first day of historic national commemorations marking her 70-year reign. The monarch’s late-night appearance at Windsor Castle capped off a day of joyous festivities that began with the Queen taking to the Buckingham Palace balcony flanked by her family earlier in the day.

However, after experiencing “discomfort” during Thursday’s ceremonies, it was reported that she would miss a national thanksgiving ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Friday. The Big Jubilee Lunch and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant will round off the four days of festivities on Sunday.

Convicted murderer who escaped from Texas prison and proceeded to kill family-of-five is killed in police shootout.

A convicted murderer who escaped from a Texas prison transport bus in May 2022 has been shot dead by cops during a shootout.

Gonzalo Lopez, 46, who had been on the run since May 12, was killed in a shootout in a residential neighborhood in Jourdanton, Texas, at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Shortly before Lopez’s death, he had been named the prime suspect in the slaying of five family members – two adults and three children – in Centerville, about 250 miles away from the scene of his fatal shootout, authorities said.

Lopez was ultimately spotted by law enforcement driving a white Chevrolet Silverado that he stole from the murder scene.

Police chased him and Lopez crashed into a tree after running over spike strips. He then exited the vehicle and began shooting at officers, who returned fire, striking and killing him, according to Jason Clark, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

No law enforcement officers were injured in the gunfight.

Clark, at a Thursday night press conference, said Lopez was armed with a rifle and handgun, which were believed to have been stolen from home of the murder victims.

The identities of the victims were not revealed on Thursday night. They were from Houston, but spent their weekends at the Centerville home, reports said.

Lopez had evaded arrest since he slipped out of his restraints on the inmate-filled bus and stabbed the driver before running off into the woods in Leon County.

The inmate, who was serving a life sentence for a 2006 murder, was being transported to Texas’ prison headquarters in Huntsville — about 50 miles north of Leon County — for a medical appointment when he made his escape, officials said.
