Three civil society organisations have asked the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to give an account of the missing and the dead in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack. The Community of Practice against Mass Atrocities and the Joint Action Civil Society Committee under the aegis of Nigeria Mourns said the abduction of the passengers of the ill-fated train was an indication of Buhariās ācontinued failure to protect the lives and property of Nigeriansā.
The groups condemned in strong terms the spate of insecurity across the country and called on the Federal Government to take āactionable steps to mitigate further attacks by terrorist groupsā.
In a statement posted on the global petition website, change.org, which had gathered over 7,000 signatures as of the time of filing this report, the groups noted that the Buhari regime had failed in its primary responsibility to its citizens.
āSince the Kaduna train attack, the government has failed to account for the number of persons rescued, the missing and the dead, failing in its primary purpose as provided for in Section 14(2)(b) of the Nigerian Constitution which states that āthe security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of governmentā, and Section 17(2) (c): āgovernmental actions shall be humaneā.
āWe point out that the level of humaneness envisioned by our constitution is lacking in the actions of the government in each of these incidents, and that these actions rather suggest that the value for human life in Nigeria is now at its lowest and that the government is failing in its constitutional duties,ā part of the statement read.
In the same vein, Global Rights, which also petitioned Buhari on change.org asked the FG to secure the release of the remaining abductees.
āNone of us are free till all victims of abductions across the country are free. Our security is a constitutionally prescribed duty of the government,ā part of the statement read.
A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tokunbo Idowu, aka TBoss, has said that it is unwise for people to have children they cannot feed.In an interview with Saturday Beats, she said,
āI totally agree that children are blessings but having kids that one can barely feed is an unwise decision.
āI want to be able to comfortably feed and cater for my little ones. The world is such a beautiful place with so many nice things to see and places to visit. I would love to experience life with my kids which would be a hassle if I am not financially equipped.
Speaking about her driver who wanted to sell one of his triplets to her because he did not have the financial means to take care of them, she said,
āI had a driver many years ago when I just moved to Abuja whose wife gave birth to triplets and he asked if I would be willing to buy one or two of them because he could not afford (to take care of them), and there were other kids at home.
āI initially thought he was joking. I believe it is the level of poverty in the country that pushed him to do something like that.āOn why she chooses to post pictures of her daughter on social media, unlike some other celebs who donāt like to reveal the identities of their children, she said,
āCelebrities are human beings too, and they should be allowed to raise their children whichever way they desire, as long as they are not endangering the child.
āI did not post my daughterās picture on social media until I felt ready to do so. Even now, there are still many moments I choose to keep to myself. I am savouring every bit of this motherhood journey. I share the things I want to and guard the rest jealously.ā
Highlighting what motherhood has taught her, she said, āMotherhood has taught me patience. If one is not a patient person, which I never used to be, one would struggle.
I am still constantly working on myself though. It is a deliberate decision and I believe I am going to be an amazing mother.ā

Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua arrived early in Jeddah to put the finishing touches on his training for the title rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in eight days.
Eleven months after their first clash in London, Joshua and Usyk are now just eight days away from their highly anticipated rematch in Saudi Arabia.
They went head-to-head in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September, with the Ukrainian producing an upset to claim the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight belts.
Joshua will look to reclaim the belts and become a three-time unified heavyweight champion of the world, and he looks in fine shape in the latest released footage of his training.
After cutting weight and looking to outbox Usyk in their first fight, Joshua looks to have gained more and improved his power ahead of the rematch.
Since the loss last September, Joshua parted with long-term coach Rob McCracken and instead Garcia criticised AJās game plan in the first fight, and is keen for his new fighter to use his superior physique to beat Usyk the second time around.
When you have somebody thatās a lot smaller than you and you have the weight, height, reach and power advantages then take advantage of that,ā said Garcia.
āIt seemed like they had a different game plan.āI wouldnāt even want to say it was a āgame planā, maybe it was just the wrong instructions. Anthony is the type of fighter who listens to his corner so he did what he was told and it was totally wrong.ā
By the looks of Joshuaās build in his training footage, it seems the Watford-born fighter has taken on board the advice from his new coach.
