He revealed in a Twitter post that he had failed on 10 different business ventures before he became successful with the renowned movie platform, Iroko TV while he was already in his 30s.

Tissue used by Lionel Messi to wipe his tears is being auctioned for $1 million ?.

The tissue used by Lionel Messi to wipe his tears during his farewell press conference is reportedly being sold for $1 million.

Earlier this month, Messi parted ways with Barcelona after spending almost two decades at the Spanish club.

At a press conference to bid farewell to the Catalans, the Argentina captain was reduced to tears as he said his final goodbyes.
According to a report by TMZ Sports, the tissue used by the 34-year-old to wipe his tears has gone on sale for a staggering $1 million.

The report suggests the tissue has been posted on an auction site, with the seller claiming it contains Messi’s “genetic material”.

The seller also insists the tissue could potentially be used to someday clone the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
It is unknown whether any buyer would be willing to spend such a huge fortune on the tissue, especially with Messi moving to PSG.

Meanwhile, Messi has started training with the Ligue 1 side and has already set his sights on helping them win the UEFA Champions League.
“I believe PSG are prepared to fight once again having come very close in recent years. I have the same dream and desire to win another Champions League,” he told beIN Sports.

“Hopefully I can do whatever is necessary so that we can achieve that goal which is something that would mean a lot to the club, to me personally and to the fans.”
Messi will be playing alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in what is certainly the deadliest attacking trio in world football.

Chelsea close to sealing club-record deal for Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku is close to signing for English Premier League club, Chelsea after the back-and-forth around his departure from Inter Milan is set to end.

The Belgian striker is said to coming to the Premier League side for a club-record fee of £97.5m from the Serie A champions.

Despite saying earlier in the summer he was happy to stay with Inter, the 28-year-old reversed his stance this week and told Inter that he wanted to join Chelsea if the right offer was received.

Some details are still to be resolved, but provided there are no unexpected problems, Lukaku will return to the club where he spent three seasons from 2011.

But between the short stay at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku spent two year on loan at West Brom and Everton.

Lukaku scored 47 goals in 72 Serie A appearances over two seasons at the San Siro, helping Inter to a first league title since 2010 last term.

Some PDP governors sneak into Aso Rock at night to beg to defect —Presidency

The Presidency has lambasted the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for insinuating that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has turned the Presidential Villa into its headquarters.

Governors on the platform of the PDP had made the allegation during its meeting in Bauchi State on Monday, accusing the APC of “parading coerced PDP members who defected into the ruling party.”

However, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has mocked the PDP governors over what he called “belly-aching” on the misfortune that has befallen their party.

Speaking on a television programme in far away United Kingdom on Wednesday, Adesina claimed that while the PDP governors meet in the day to chastise the APC, some of their governors sneak into the Aso Rock Presidential Villa at night to beg to defect to the APC.

According to the President’s spokesman, some “PDP governors have been talking with the APC leadership on plans to defect,” and claimed that many of them will still dump their party next year when President Buhari begins to inaugurate projects.

“There will be a massive unveiling of infrastructure come 2022; starting from commissioning of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway which the PDP could not achieve in 16 years, to the AKK Pipeline and so many highways. These massive projects will make a lot of PDP governors to join the APC,” he said.

Describing the PDP as a “beleaguered party in total confusion,” Adesina said:

Between now and 2023, there will be more confusion in the party. No one made noise when they (PDP) were holding BoT (Board of Trustees) meetings during Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua and Goouck Jonathan regimes. Why are they complaining now?”

Tokyo Olympics installs cardboard beds inside Olympic Village to discourage Athletes from engaging in sexual activity.

The countdown for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has already begun with the sports event kicking off this weekend.

Ahead of the event, officials have reportedly installed cardboard beds inside the Olympic village to discourage athletes from engaging in sexual activity.

According to Dezeen magazine, Olympic officials who already warned 2021 Games participants to avoid two-person push-ups because of the coronavirus, set up 18,000 of the cardboard beds in the notoriously sex-crazed athletes’ village.

“Those beds can stand up to 200 kilograms,” Takashi Kitajima, the general manager of the Athletes Village, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press. Kitajima further added that a “wild celebration” such as an athlete bagging a gold could perhaps be bad news for the bed. “Of course, wood and cardboard would each break if you jumped on them,” he said.

“Beds to be installed in Tokyo Olympic Village will be made of cardboard, this is aimed at avoiding intimacy among athletes,” American distance runner Paul Chelimo tweeted.

Euro 2020: FA launches independent review into ‘disgraceful’ fan/police clashes at Wembley final.

The English Football Association has commissioned an independent review into what it terms “disgraceful scenes” at Wembley Stadium during the Euro 2020 final.

The match between England – playing in front of a home crowd and in their first major final for 55 years – and Italy was marred by ticketless supporters who gained entry to the stadium, clashing with stewards, police and fellow fans in the process.

The Metropolitan Police have issued an appeal for help identifying 10 men who they believe were involved with violence and disorder at England’s national stadium.

UEFA also opened a disciplinary investigation into events surrounding the match The FA was hit with four charges by UEFA relating to the invasion of the field by a spectator, throwing of objects by supporters, disturbances during the Italian anthem and the lighting of fireworks.

The FA has now confirmed a review will take place.
On Monday July 19, an FA spokesperson said: “We are determined to fully understand what happened outside and then inside Wembley Stadium at the UEFA EURO 2020 Final on Sunday 11 July 2021.

“We informed DCMS at the weekend that an independent review led by Baroness Casey of Blackstock has been commissioned to report on the facts and circumstances involved. It will speak to all parties concerned and include external experts.

“A key emphasis of the findings will be to ensure that lessons are learned and such disgraceful scenes are never able to be repeated. We continue to work with the relevant authorities in support of their efforts to identify those responsible and hold them to account.”

Last week, Julian Knight MP, the chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, wrote to Mark Bullingham, the FA’s CEO, to demand an explanation for the “shocking” scenes at Wembley.

In a letter to Bullingham Knight wrote: “The scenes witnessed at Wembley Stadium during the Euro 2020 final were shocking.

“The sheer number of ticketless people breaching the temporary, and arguably insufficient, barriers and physically attacking stewards and police to force their way into the match was appalling.

“Reports across social media of unsafe numbers in the stalls and terrified children being intimidated by the intruders did not line up with the stadium’s statement that a small number of people had successfully entered the stadium without a ticket.

“In the FA’s statement on the matter, it stated that ‘security and stewarding numbers for the Euro 2020 final exceeded the requirements for the match and were greater than any other previous event’ at the venue. Clearly the numbers were still insufficient.”

Super Falcons to camp in Austria without star player and captain Asisat Oshoala.

Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, will camp in Austria without their star player and captain, Asisat Oshoala.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has released a 26-woman list for camping in Austria ahead of a tournament in Lagos, Nigeria and the Barcelona star Oshoala was exempted from the list.

Ghana’s Black Queens, Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses, Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Morocco and Mali will compete against Nigeria in the tournament.

The camp in Austria is the third gathering that the NFF has arranged for the Super Falcons this year, following an interesting three-wins-out-three account at the Turkish Women’s Cup in Antalya in February and the Summer Series in the USA last month.

The 26-year-old Oshoala won a historic treble with Barcelona’s women’s side and also played for Nigeria in an invitational tournament in the United States in June. It is reported that she is nursing an injury.

Meanwhile former captain, Desire Oparanozie has been invited back to the team.
Oparanozie was initially leftout of the Super Falcons for the role she played in the team’s sit-in protest over unpaid allowances at the 2019 World Cup.

Prince William ‘Sickened’ by Racist Abuse Team England Players Received on Social Media After Euro 2020 Loss.

Prince William has addressed online racism suffered by England’s soccer stars.

Team England players Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were deluged with online attacks after they missed penalty kicks that helped secure Italy’s win in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

William, 39, who is President of the Football Association that governs the game in England, said in a statement issued on social media: “I am sickened by the racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match. It is totally unacceptable that players have to endure this abhorrent behaviour. It must stop now and all those involved should be held accountable.”

— The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (@KensingtonRoyal) July 12, 2021
He signed himself “W” to signify that it was a personal message and not something from his office at Kensington Palace.
William, 39, was at the match with son Prince George, 7, and wife Kate Middleton, 39. The family’s euphoria at an early goal that gave England the lead was tempered with sadness by the end as the team fell at the last hurdle by missing the last kick of the contest.

And William praised the victors Italy in a statement at the end of the game. “Heartbreaking. Congratulations @Azzurri on a great victory,” he wrote on Instagram. “@England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high, and be so proud of yourselves — I know there’s more to come.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall also joined the conversation online on Monday, posting a quote on their official Clarence House platforms from Charles’s Windrush Day 2020 speech: “Recognizing the rich diversity of cultures which make this country so special — and in many ways unique — lies at the heart of what we can be as a nation.”

  • The Prince of Wales, Windrush Day 2020.

Well done @England on your fantastic #Euro2020 performance! You made us proud.

William has regularly warned social media companies that they should be doing more to counter online abuse in all its forms. And in April, he joined a U.K.-wide campaign to stay off the platforms for a weekend to take a stand on the issue.

The boycott, that ran until Monday, May 3, aimed to encourage social media companies to take stronger action against racist and sexist abuse online. “As President of the FA I join the entire football community in the social media boycott this weekend,” he said then.

For William and Kate, the game came at the end of a sporting weekend that had seen them at Wimbledon tennis on Saturday, for the women’s final, and — for Kate — at the men’s final on Sunday. On Friday afternoon, William played polo to raise money for charities that the couple support too.

Bucks beat Hawks, to face Phoenix in NBA Finals.

Khris Middleton scored 32 points to power the Milwaukee Bucks into the NBA Finals on Saturday with a series-clinching 118-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

The third-seeded Bucks beat the host Hawks in the best-of-seven series 4-2 to book their first appearance in the league championship since 1974.

“As a little kid everybody wanted to be part of this chance to go to the finals. This is amazing,” said Bucks guard Jrue Holiday.

Milwaukee will face the Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns in the finals which begin on Tuesday.

The Bucks won despite the absence of two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sat out with a injured left knee. The 26-year-old Greek forward hyperextended the knee when he landed awkwardly in game four of the series.

The Hawks got their top player Trae Young back after he missed the previous two games with a bruised foot. But Young struggled to score in game six, shooting just four-of-17, missing all six of his three point attempts and finishing with just 14 points.

Holiday stepped up for the second straight game to help fill Milwaukee’s offensive void with Antetokounmpo out. Holiday flirted with a triple double, finishing with 27 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Brook Lopez, who was the star of Thursday’s game five win with 33 points, delivered 13 points on Saturday for the Bucks.

The young Hawks, who last made it to the finals 60 years ago when they were based in St. Louis, were trying to force a seventh game.
Cam Reddish came off the bench to score a team high 21 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic had 20 points and John Collins finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Middleton shot 10-of-22 from the field and made all eight of his free throws as he scored 16 straight points for the Bucks in the second half.

“I just tried to shoot and be confident, just play the right way,” Middleton said.

The Bucks started quickly, jumping out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter after a Lopez dunk. The Hawks clawed their way back into it in the second quarter to trail by just four, 47-43, at the half.

Milwaukee broke the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Hawks 44-29 as Middleton and Holiday took charge of the offence.
Lopez made an alley-oop dunk with 1:29 to go in the fourth to make it 113-110 and PJ Tucker nailed a clutch 23-foot three pointer with 62 seconds remaining to stretch the lead to 10 points and help seal the win.

The second seeded Suns will have home court advantage in the finals based on having a better record in the regular season.

Phoenix edged the Bucks in two games during the regular season, 128-127 in overtime in Milwaukee and 125-124 in Arizona.

They have met just once before in the postseason, back in 1978 when the Bucks won 2-0 in a best-of-three first round series.

Meet the new manager of Everton football club

Everton have appointed former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as their new manager.

The 61-year-old Spaniard has signed a three-year deal and succeeds Carlo Ancelotti, who resigned in early June to return to Real Madrid.

“I am delighted to be joining Everton,” said Benitez.

“I believe this is a club that is going places. I’m determined to play a big part in helping this great club achieve its ambitions.”

Benitez last managed in the Premier League at Newcastle United, leaving in June 2019.

He moved to China to coach Dalian Professional FC and left them in January after 18 months in charge.

Everton say Benitez “will commence work with the squad when they return for pre-season training from 5 July”.

The club said he was given the job “after a robust and wide-reaching recruitment process over the last three weeks – a process which has included multiple interviews with several candidates”.

Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri said: “Rafa impressed us greatly with his knowledge and experience but, above all, the passion and hunger he showed to join our club.

“We are appointing Rafa because we believe he will bring success to our club and to Evertonians. To put it simply – we need to be competing at the top end of the league and to be winning trophies.

“Rafa is a proven winner with huge experience in coaching internationally and we have secured the best man to achieve that for us.”

Benitez replaced Gerard Houllier as Liverpool manager in June 2004 and guided them to Champions League and FA Cup success.

Days after ‘poison’ prophesy about Davido, Mayorkun makes the sign of the cross before accepting a drink in the club (Video)

Nigerian singer and DMW artiste, Mayorkun appears to be embracing his religious side more than ever now, following a prophesy made about his boss, Davido.

Mayorkun was captured on tape doing the sign of the cross in a club before accepting an alcoholic drink.

His action comes just days after a pastor prophesied that DMW founder, Davido would be poisoned by someone he knows.

The cleric had said; “I told you about one singer, Davido. They will poison him; I don’t know him and I have never seen him in my life. They will put something in his drink; he will be rushed to the hospital, will be admitted and unconscious. The person that will poison him is sleeping in his house.

I’ve been dealing with it in prayer but the lord said it will happen. And the person that will poison him is sleeping in his house. Somebody give the lord a clap offering.”

In a video making rounds online, Mayorkun could be seen collecting the drink and doing the sign of the cross before gulping it.

Meet the personality of the month of May

There is a story behind the success and achievement of Thomas Tuchel, the winner of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Final this season.
Thomas Tuchel was born on 29 August, 1973 in Krumbach, Germany. Tuchel starred as a member of local club, TSV Krumbach, coached by his father Rudolf. Tuchel moved to the academy at FC Augsburg in 1988, however, he never appeared for the first team, being released soon after he turned 19. He was quickly granted the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga for Stuttgarter Kickers in 1992.

Thomas was a passionate player [who] was exacting and demanding, which didn’t go down well with some of his teammates.

He played eight games during the 1992–93 season. After the 1993–94 season, he was dropped from Kickers’ first team, and joined Regionalliga Süd side SSV Ulm, coached by Hermann Badstuber, the father of Holger Badstuber, whom Tuchel would later manage at youth level. Playing as a central defender, Tuchel made 69 appearances for SSV Ulm until being forced to retire in 1998, at age 25, after suffering a knee cartilage injury.

He graduated from Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University with a degree in business administration, and worked as a bartender at the Radio Bar in Stuttgart while a student.

He married his wife, Sissi, in 2009. The couple have two daughters. He is a polyglot, speaking English, French, and Italian in addition to his native German.

He describes himself as an “imperfect vegetarian” and consumes minimal amounts of alcohol. He considers himself an avid reader, namely of crime thriller novels and books about architecture and design, and is also a fan of tennis, rock music, and hip hop.

Coaching Career
Tuchel began his coaching career in 2000,hired by Ralf Rangnick as youth team coach at VfB Stuttgart, where he aided in the development of future first team players, namely Mario Gómez and Holger Badstuber.

In 2005, Tuchel returned to Augsburg, with club sporting director Andreas Rettig noting the club’s admiration of Tuchel’s tactical discipline led him to being appointed youth team co-ordinator.

Tuchel’s time as the coach of Augsburg II impressed many top-level German clubs, and he moved to Bundesliga club Mainz 05 in 2009.

Tuchel officially assumed the role as the club’s new head coach on 19 April 2015, returning to the game after over a year out of management, signing a three-year deal.

In May 2018, Tuchel signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), replacing Unai Emery. He reportedly rejected Bayern Munich to join the club.

On 26 January 2021, Tuchel signed an 18-month contract (with the option for an extra year) with English Premier League side Chelsea, replacing Frank Lampard. He is the first German to be appointed as head coach of the club. Although expressing a desire to not come in mid-season so as to have a pre-season with his new team,Tuchel accepted the position after Ralf Rangnick rejected the proposal of interim head coach.

MC Galaxy responds as Skales threatens to beat him

Nigerian musicians, MC Galaxy and Skales on Thursday, went at each others throats on social media.

Arsenal ruins Hodgson’s home farewell

Roy Hodgson says managing Crystal Palace has been a “fairytale” despite his final home game in charge ending in disappointment after Arsenal scored twice in injury time.

Veteran manager Hodgson, 73, announced on Tuesday he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after four years in the job and was given a warm reception from the returning home supporters.

But his farewell match at Selhurst Park ended in a last-gasp defeat as Gabriel Martinelli latched onto fellow substitute Martin Odegaard’s cross to convert from close range in added time before Nicolas Pepe coolly rolled in Arsenal’s third four minutes later.

Christian Benteke’s diving header from Andros Townsend’s free-kick had levelled for the home side after Pepe had volleyed in to finish off a neat Arsenal move.

“It has been exceptionally good,” Hodgson told BBC Sport. “I never really envisaged it. From being on the terraces at the age of five to finish managing the team at the age of 73 – it is something of a fairytale or like Roy of the Rovers. It’s been a privilege.

“I am delighted with the reception they gave me. It seems they appreciated me as much as I appreciated them and that’s a nice feeling.”

Asked about his favourite moment at the club, Hodgson said: “In a year or so I might say tonight was the standout moment. A guard of honour, people cheering you throughout and the reception at the end. Not all managers have experienced that in their life.

“It was a nice feeling. I am sure that will mean more to me than the odd game or good performance I remember.”

Palace can move up a place to 12th on the final day if they better Wolves’ result against Manchester United, while Arsenal’s hopes of a top-six finish were ended by West Ham’s victory over West Brom.

Victory for Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp likened his side’s victory at Burnley to winning “a semi-final” that takes them to Sunday’s “final” against Crystal Palace and the chance to seal a top-four finish.

Liverpool’s incredible win at West Bromwich Albion on Sunday kept their Champions League hopes alive and at Turf Moor they built on their last-gasp weekend heroics with a victory that was much tighter than the scoreline suggests.

A cool finish from Roberto Firmino turned the game Liverpool’s way then a first club goal for Nathaniel Phillips and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s late drive made the points safe and improved the Reds’ goal difference.

The Reds are now in the fourth Champions League spot, level on points with fifth-placed Leicester City and with a goal difference four better than the Foxes.

Klopp’s side host the Eagles in Roy Hodgson’s last game in charge in four days’ time, with 10,000 fans inside Anfield.

The Foxes are at home to Tottenham while Chelsea, who are a point better off than both, are at Aston Villa.

“Today was a semi-final,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “We had to win the semi-final and we did.

“Nothing is decided yet but we improved our position and we have the final. That’s what we needed. It’s what we deserve because this was a top performance.

“Now we have to make sure we recover quickly. We have a thin squad in some positions. We have to wrap them in cotton wool.

“I can’t wait for the 10,00 fans at Anfield. Nothing is decided – Palace are strong.”
