As reported by Sportsmail, Chelsea co-controlling owner Todd Boehly may be open to signing Ronaldo in January.

Few minutes before the game could end, Ronaldo was seen marching down the touchline and into the tunnel. The Portuguese also left the stadium in anger.

Writing on Instagram, Ronaldo explained that ‘sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of us’ as he apologise for his display. ‘I havenโ€™t changed. Iโ€™m the same person and the same professional that Iโ€™ve been for the last 20 years playing elite football.

He added: ‘I started very young, the older and most experienced players examples were always very important to me. Therefore, later on, Iโ€™ve always tried to set the example myself for the youngsters that grew in all the teams that Iโ€™ve represented. d respect has always played a very important role in my decision making process.’ ‘Unfortunately thatโ€™s not always possible and sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of us.

‘Right now, I just feel that I have to keep working hard in Carrington, support my teammates and be ready for everything in any given game. Giving in to the pressure is not an option. It never was. This is Manchester United, and united we must stand. Soon weโ€™ll be together again.’

His apology came after United released a statement on Thursday revealing Ronaldo had been banished from their squad for the trip to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon while it is believed he will be training away from the senior squad for the time being.

Manchester United coach, Erik Ten Hag vows to ‘deal’ with Cristiano Ronaldo after he stormed down the tunnel before full-time for not being brought on

Manchester United coach, Erik Ten Hag has vowed to take action against Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal striker stormed away from Manchester Unitedโ€™s victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford before full-time.

Ronaldo was an unused substitute in the game and toward the final minutes, he stormed down the tunnel in the 89th minute.

Sportsmail revealed he may even have left the stadium before the match finished.

Ten Hag didnโ€™t give an answer when he was asked if Ronaldo had been given permission to leave.

The United manager simply said: โ€˜I have seen him, but I didnโ€™t speak to him. I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are celebrating this victory. โ€˜I donโ€™t pay attention today. I will deal with it tomorrow.

I want to keep the focus on the team and a magnificent performance from all 11 players and the subs who came on. It was a squad performance.โ€™

In July, the 37-year-old exited Old Trafford at half-time after being substituted in a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano.

Ten Hag described the incident as โ€˜unacceptableโ€™ but pointed out that Ronaldo wasnโ€™t the only United player who went early.

Footballer Kynan Isaac, 31, gets career-ending 10 years ban after he’s found guilty of spot-fixing and placing illegal bets on a match he played in

The FA have handed out a 10-year ban to a former Reading defender after finding him guilty of spot-fixing and placing illegal bets on an FA Cup tie in which he played in last season.

Defender Kynan Isaac, who plays in the Southern Premier League for Stratford, was today informed of the ban that will effectively end his career.

The FA began investigating Isaac last season after being tipped off about suspicious betting patterns in Stratfordโ€™s FA Cup first-round defeat to Shrewsbury last November.

The 31-year-old former Reading left-back was charged with spot-fixing in August after it was alleged he was deliberately booked in the 84th minute of his sideโ€™s 5-1 defeat, as part of a conspiracy with friends to beat the betting markets.

After appearing before an independent disciplinary commission Isaac was found guilty of spot-fixing by deliberately earning a yellow card, failing to comply with the FAโ€™s investigation and breaching FA rules by placing multiple bets, including several on his own team.

The resulting 10-year ban is one of the longest the FA have ever dished out.

The French midfielder sustained the injury during Chelsea’s draw with Tottenham in August. He was substituted in the 84th minute and replaced by Conor Gallagher.

The 31-year-old underwent regular rehab sessions with the club’s medical staff and returned to training at Cobham at the end of September after missing six matches.

But the French midfielder did not travel to Italy on Monday ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League fixtures against AC Milan.

Manager Graham Potter said he had suffered a ‘reaction in training’ while L’Equipe are now reporting that the 31-year-old has relapsed from his hamstring injury.

The French news outlet is claiming Kante could sit out Chelsea’s next five games as a result of his injury.

The news means Kante could be at risk of missing out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar given the tournament starts on November 20.

France’s head coach Didier Deschamps is due to name his World Cup squad in just under three weeks.

Atletico Madrid confirm permanent transfer of Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona

Atletico Madrid confirmed they have agreed on a deal to sign French striker Antoine Griezmann permanently from Barcelona, on a contract until 2026.

Griezmann has been on loan at Atletico since August 2021 after a difficult spell at Camp Nou, following his 120 million euro (116.5 million dollar) move in 2019.

“Griezmann has signed a deal that links him to our club until June 30, 2026,” said Atletico in a statement.

The 2018 World Cup winner was a key figure in coach Diego Simeone’s plans last season but has largely been reduced to substitute appearances in the current campaign as Atletico tried to escape paying a reported obligatory 40 million euro purchase fee if he played over a certain number of games.

Atletico and Barcelona negotiated a new deal with Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirming the fee during the club’s members’ assembly on Sunday. “It is for 20 million euros plus four more in variables,” said Laporta.

“There is another clause in the deal to sell the player, which is that if Atletico decide to sell him in the future they will have to pay us the difference that remains, up to the value of the 40 million which was agreed before.”

Griezmann has played 303 times for the club, scoring 144 goals, across his two stints in the capital.

He netted 35 goals in 102 appearances for Barcelona, winning the Copa del Rey there in 2021.

Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso appointed Bayer Leverkusen manager after Gerardo Seoane sacking

Bayer Leverkusen has appointed Xabi Alonso as their new manager after sacking Gerardo Seoane.

The Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday, October 5, that they had โ€œparted waysโ€ with Seoane. He has now been replaced with Alonso, 40, who will sign a contract until June 2024.

Seoaneโ€™s last game in charge was a 2-0 defeat at Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday, days after they were demolished 4-0 at Bayern Munich in the league.

A club statement confirmed the news on Wednesday.

It read:

‘Bayer 04 Leverkusen have parted company with head coach Gerardo Seoane. The Swiss coach is followed by Xabi Alonso who has a contract to 30 June 2024.’ The club’s sporting director Simon Rolfes further elaborated on the reasons for relieving Seoane of his duties.

‘Gerardo Seoane has done good work for Bayer 04 over the past one and a half years, above all with the outstanding qualification for the Champions League,’ he said.

‘Unfortunately, we have left the path of success. The early exit from the DFB Cup but in particular the current position in the Bundesliga, which does not meet our expectations, has compelled us to change coaches.’

Alonso is set to hold his first press conference as Leverkusen boss. The Spaniard has been out of work since his exit from Real Sociedad B in May.

In 2021, Alonso helped the Basque club win promotion to the Second Division for the first time in 60 years. He then decided to leave the club this summer in pursuit of a fresh challenge.

Choosing Chelsea over Manchester United my best decision โ€“ Mikel Obi reveals

Former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi has revealed that picking Chelsea over Manchester United during his controversial transfer in 2006 was the โ€œbest decisionโ€ of his career.

Recall that the midfielder, who retired last week at the age of 35, was the subject of a bitter dispute between the Red Devils and the Blues in 2005, before signing for the London club the following year.

Despite initially signing for the Manchester side from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo,Mikel made a U-turn and moved to London.

Mikel became one of the clubโ€™s most decorated players, winning the Champions League, Europa League, two Premier Leagues, two League Cups, and four FA Cups in an 11-year spell which ended when he left Stamford Bridge in 2017.

Speaking with BBC Sport Africa, Mikel said:

โ€œI donโ€™t regret any decision I made because I enjoyed everything I achieved at Chelsea โ€“ itโ€™s the best decision I have ever made in my life.โ€ โ€œI signed a pre-contract for Manchester United when I was 17.

If you are a kid and you see Sir Alex Ferguson right in front of you with the contract, of course you will be tempted.โ€

Lesbianism was not rampant in our time – Former Super Falcons star, Stella Mbachu

Former Super Falcons star, Stella Mbachu has opened up on lesbianism in women’s football and other issues facing sports development.

Mbachu who sat for an interview with Punch, noted that lesbianism was not rampant while playing in the national women’s team.

The footballer also revealed that their coaches at the time spoke against it. She said; I canโ€™t say if lesbianism was rampant or not during my playing days, but I can confirm that we had it at that time too.

But the coaches at that time preached against it and discouraged us from the act, telling us the act is evil and we canโ€™t use that to play football.

Every player at that time was informed about it and the disadvantages of practicing lesbianism. That is why it was not that rampant in our time.

Also debunking claims of women footballers not making good wives, she said;

No, I donโ€™t agree with that. We have Mercy Akide, a womenโ€™s football star and she is married. We have female footballers that are married and are good wives.

The likes of Florence Omagbemi, Nkechi Egbe are married and are good wives to their husbands. It depends on what you want, not when you marry the wrong person.

Just like every other person in marriage, when you donโ€™t get your own person, it will give you a problem, both of you will not flow very well. But when you marry the person that you love and want to stay with, everything will work well.

Talking about racism in football, Mbachu said;

During my playing days, I never paid attention to fansโ€™ racist chants. Honestly, it does not bother me. My concern is to go to the pitch, play according to my coachโ€™s instructions, do my best and make sure I shine.

Racism has returned to football fully and some countries are using that opportunity to abuse players. I will advise players to ignore any form of racist comments because I donโ€™t see racism stopping soon.

FIFA is not serious about it; they need to caution the opposing fans, players and the teams. But if the world governing body is serious about it, racism would have reduced drastically in football.

Mum of 14-year-old autistic boy whose phone was smashed by Cristiano Ronaldo demands the Man.United star is given ‘the right punishment’

The mother of an autistic boy whose phone was smashed by Cristiano Ronaldo wants the FA to give out the ‘right punishment’ to the footballer, insisting that the striker ‘can’t keep getting away’ with his ‘unacceptable behaviour’.

The Football Association charged the Manchester United star earlier this week after revealing footage showed Ronaldo slapping a phone out of 14-year-old Jacob Harding’s hand.

His mother Sarah Kelly, 37, has now urged the governing body to discipline the Portuguese forward appropriately. ‘Let’s hope he finally gets the right punishment,’ she told the Mirror.

‘He can’t keep getting away with it. His behaviour is unacceptable.’ Ronaldo’s explosive behaviour occurred during Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park in April. She continued:

‘I’m being hounded by people saying I’m dragging it up again but I didn’t know anything about it.

‘He should have been dealt with six months ago. My son talks about what happened to him every day. He still hasn’t had his phone back.’

The FA’s statement on Friday September 23 read: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for an incident that took place after Manchester United FC’s Premier League match against Everton FC on Saturday 9 April 2022.

Asisat Oshoala scores in Barca rout

After failing to hit target in her first game of the 2022/23 season against Granadilla Tenerife last weekend at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, scored her first goal of the season in style as Barcelona Femeni demolished Villarreal 4-1 at the Ciudad Deportiva Villarreal CF Vila-real on Sunday.

Oshoala came on as a substitute in the championsโ€™ opening day 2-0 victory over Granadilla Tenerife, but coach Jonatan Giraldez handed the Falcons star her first start of the season at Villarreal.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool forward grabbed the opportunity with both hands and rewarded the managerโ€™s faith in her with a lovely goal to double Blaugranaโ€™s lead.

The Catalans, who went unbeaten in the Primera Divisiรณn Femenina last season, showed their superiority from the kickoff, and they were rewarded with a goal from Mapi Leon in the 26th minute.

Despite several chances created, Barcelona could not find the back of the net to double their lead and the Spanish champions went into the dressing room at the end of the first half with only a goal separating both sides.

The Catalans, however, started the second half better with more attacking intent and were rewarded for their efforts.Just three minutes into the restart, Oshoala scored her first goal of the season and Barcaโ€™s second of the game.

A Mariona Caldentey nice through pass put the Nigerian through on goal and she wasted no time, as she chipped the ball from outside the box past the charging Villarreal keeper to make it 2-0 for Barcelona.

Rocco Garcia pulled one back for the home side in the 56th minute to give her side a fighting chance.

Nonetheless, Barcelona fired back with goals from Claudia Pina and Lara Mata(own goal) to ensure a 4-1 win for the defending champions.

The win takes Barcelona to the summit of the Liga Femini, albeit on goal difference

The initial report suggested that the 23-year-old would be out for three weeks. But Tuttonapoli has claimed Osimhen is likely to return in time for Luciano Spallettiโ€™s sideโ€™s encounter against the Dutch champions.

Chelsea sack senior executive less than a month after he was appointed amid claims s*xual harassment

Chelsea have sacked their commercial director less than a month after employing him after it emerged that he had sent ‘inappropriate messages’ before he joined the club.

The club confirmed that they had terminated the contract of Damian Willoughby ‘with immediate effect’ after they were made aware of the content of the messages.

Willoughby was in his second spell at Stamford Bridge. He took a key role, with Chelsea’s new US owners looking to maximise off-the-field revenue.

However, Willoughby has now departed after less than four weeks with the club. A Chelsea statement read:

‘Chelsea Football Club confirms that it has terminated commercial director Damian Willoughby’s employment with immediate effect.

‘Evidence of inappropriate messages sent by Mr. Willoughby, prior to his appointment at Chelsea FC earlier this month, has recently been provided to and investigated by the club.

‘While they were sent prior to his employment at the club, such behaviour runs absolutely counter to the workplace environment and corporate culture being established by the club’s new ownership.

‘The club’s owners are working tirelessly to set and achieve the highest standards both on and off the pitch, and are determined to establish and nurture a culture of transparency, accountability, inclusivity, diversity and opportunity.

‘The club is committed to creating an environment which embodies these values.’Kim is said to have made a complaint to the Blues president of business Tom Glick, who hired Willoughby, to claim that she had been s*xually harassed before his employment by the club and alleges she felt threatened over the telephone, Mail Online reports.

Kim held talks with Glick, who became the first appointment of the new Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital owners in July, on behalf of overseas investors who want to pump hundreds of millions of pounds into the club’s mens’, womens’ and academy teams.

Kim provided Glick with a series of messages that were sent last year by Willoughby in which he asked her if she was n@ked, brought up the subject of having s*x, posted an alleged sexually explicit video and suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be ‘naughty’, according to Telegraph Sport.

The messages are said to have become angry after Kim rejected a proposal from Willoughby to help fund a bid to buy Chelsea that was expected to rival the bid of Todd Boehly and Clearlake.

Kim raised her concerns with Glick over the involvement of Willoughby after that first meeting, initially surrounding his attempt to raise investment as part of a bid to buy Chelsea.

The Telegraph report believes she alleges this prompted an angry phone call from Willoughby. Kim then forwarded Glick eight screenshots of messages of a s*xual nature, including the alleged s*xually explicit video, on September 3 – two days before Willoughbyโ€™s official start date at Chelsea.

She then made a complaint after Willoughby started working for Chelsea and talks have since stalled over her proposed investment project.
