Big Brother Naija ex-contestant, Boma Akpore has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to start paying him because he is rendering an important service to the nation.

According to the reality TV star, he has been keeping ‘jobless youths’ busy since July 24th, when BBNaija season 6 commenced.

In a post on his Instagram story, Boma said he would also keep pressing the necks of Nigerians who criticise or troll him online.

Actress Tonto Dikeh unapologetic about losing out in love

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has stated that she has no regrets about expressing sincere love towards her ex-partners who never loved her the way she did.

The movie star made this known via her Instagram page on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

Actor Uche Maduagwu wants Gov Sanwo-Olu to tender resignation

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has admonished Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ‘tender his resignation’ after he clamoured for a ‘Peace walk’ as part of measures to heal residents of the states following the October 20, 2020 shooting incident at the Lekki tollgate.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, November 30, the Lagos State governor invited several socialites including renowned celebrities Falz, andMr. Macaroni to take part in the ‘peace walk’. An offer the aforementioned entertainers both declined.

Actor Uche Maduagwu who also reacted to the governor’s initiative via the social media platform, Instagram, said the first step to healing is for Governor Sanwo-Olu to “tender his resignation.”

Maduagwu also took a swipe at the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, dubbing him ‘InfoLinus’.

31-year-old housewife fights lady over 19-year-old yahoo boy

A Twitter user has narrated the drama that ensued between a lady and a married woman over a yahoo boy they are both dating.

According to the tweet, the 19-year-old yahoo boy was secretly having an affair with a 31-year-old housewife. While also sleeping with a 28-year-old lady identified as Faith.

Trouble started when the married woman visited him unannounced and met the other lady in his house.

They started exchanging words and during the heated moment, Faith called the housewife a ‘small girl’, who was not her mate, since she appeared older than her.

But the married woman revealed she is 31. The Twitter user said things got out of hand to a point where they got physical and they were eventually separated by neighbours.

Rihanna reportedly expecting first child with A$AP Rocky

Barbadian-American singer Rihanna is reportedly pregnant with her first child said to be for boyfriend and rapper, A$ap Rocky.

On Monday, the superstar was conferred the honorary title of ”National Hero of Barbados” as her island home transitioned from a former British colony to a republic.

All eyes were on Rihanna amid the celebration in Bridgetown, and social media users pointed out what looked like a baby bump.

According to MTO News, a source revealed the “rude boy” crooner’s baby bump was initially spotted when she was exiting the private jet she arrived in at Barbados earlier.

Rihanna is pregnant, she has a huge belly and it’s showing. I’m so excited,” the source told MTO News.

Another source revealed that employees were informed not to drink or smoke within the environment as she aims toward bringing her baby to a “healthy environment”.

“Employees were informed in their home that it is not allowed to drink or smoke. Rihanna is pregnant and wants to bring her baby to a healthy environment”.

Rihanna is yet to confirm or deny the speculation.

Wizkid wins Artiste of the Year at Apple Music Awards

Ace Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid, has been named as the African Artiste of the Year at the Annual Apple Music Awards.

Apple announced the winners of their Annual Apple Music Awards on Monday night with Wizkid grabbing the award for the much coveted slot for African Artiste.

The list was shared via the Apple website on Tuesday, the November 30, 2021.

Wizkid’s excerpt reads in part; “Singer-songwriter Wizkid is one of Africa’s biggest crossover acts, having worked with Drake, Skepta, and Chris Brown, among others. The Nigerian musician first found regional success in 2011 with the massively popular single “Holla at Your Boy,” which appeared on his debut album, “Superstar.”

This past year, he’s been the most streamed African artist on the continent on Apple Music and ranked on the Daily Top 100 charts in 60 countries, in addition to his monthly plays on Apple Music growing by more than 250 percent outside of Africa.”

Reacting to the latest win, Wizkid said; ”Thank you to Apple Music for this award. It’s a blessing to get to do what I do, and I’m proud to be representing for Africa.”

Other winners at the awards are Aya Nakamura, who was Artist of The Year in France, and H.E.R, who was named Songwriter of The Year.

Cardi B becomes first female rapper to have two Diamond certified songs

Multi award-winning American rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar professionally known as Cardi B has reached yet another major milestone.

She becomes the first female rapper in history to have two RIAA diamond-certified songs.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) award certifications are based on the number of albums and single sales. When a song or album is certified Diamond it means it has 10,000,000 sales and counting.

Before this achievement, Cardi was the first female rapper to have a Diamond certification.

Her massively successful hit single ”Bodak Yellow” gave her the honor. Shortly after, Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass was the second single by a female rapper to be diamond certified but it took about ten years to reach the prestigious honor.

Cardi B however, shares the second certification honor with Maroon 5 for “Girls Like You”, which topped the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent seven weeks.

Nigerian singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed known professionally as Bella Shmurda, on Monday night, made his debut appearance and performance at the O2 Arena, London.

Bella Shmurda, in a post on his Instagram page was deeply thankful to Wizkid for the life-changing opportunity. He said that he will never forget what Wizkid did for him.

Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky has revealed that he’s branched into the oil and gas industry and real estate.

Nigerian man makes N54 million reselling Wizkid’s O2 Arena tickets

A Nigerian man has become a multi-millionaire overnight after he resold some concert tickets for Wizkid’s Made In Lagos tour at the O2 Arena in London.

The man who is known as Toba said he made nearly £100,000 (N54 million) just from selling some Wizkid tickets.

He had hurriedly bought some before the 20,000 tickets sold out in 12 minutes.

According to show biz hustler, he sold the VIP box tickets for prices ranging between £850 to £2,000 (N1m).

In a video Toba posted on his social media page, he could be seen flaunting the money he made from the resale.

He described Wizkid as a brand who does not need publicity to pull numbers.

The name ”Big Wiz” is befitting – Don Jazzy showers accolades on Wizkid

Mavin records boss and music producer, Michael Colins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy, has lauded Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun also known as Wizkid.

Don Jazzy, in a post on his Twitter page on November 29, 2021, said that Wizkid’s newly created moniker, Big Wiz befits him.

His comment follows the massive success of the Grammy winner’s Made In Lagos tour concert at The O2 in London on Sunday.

Only government approved orphanages to benefit from N250 million donation – Davido

Nigerian singer-songwriter, David ”Davido” Adeleke has revealed that disbursement of N250 donation to orphanages is about to commence.

He gave an update via his verified Twitter account on Monday, November 29, 2021. Davido revealed that only Government approved orphanages would qualify to benefit from the funds.

In a posted her shared, orphanages were directed to register via the link provided and it stated that registration commenced on Nov 29.

The registration process will be open until Thursday 2nd of December 2021.

EFCC arrests alleged fraudsters at ‘Yahoo Boys Awards’ in Ogun

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos State Command, have arrested 60 suspected internet fraudsters during an awards ceremony at the Conference Hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

EFCC Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

The anti-graft agency said the suspects were arrested at an event, tagged: “Peer Youths Awards”, which was allegedly organised to reward high-level internet fraudsters.

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include: exotic cars, electronic devices, laptop computers and mobile phones.

According to Uwujaren, the suspects will soon be charged to court.

Nollywood stars meeting with Tinubu has nothing to do with 2023 politics – Foluke Daramola

A Nollywood star, Foluke Daramola, has reacted to criticism from Nigerians for singing the praises of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at a forum in Lagos.

In a video that surfaced on social media at the weekend, Daramola and a few Nollywood stars including the comic actor, John Okafor aka Mr.Ibu and Harry B were seen sitting around a conference table and chanting “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.”

The movie stars that appeared in the video include John Okafor and Foluke Daramola, among others.

The development irked Nigerians who quickly took to social media to condemn the celebrities for publicly voicing their support for the ex-Lagos State governor.

They accused the Nollywood stars of collecting money to endorse the APC chieftain.

Daramola, who reacted to the criticism on her Instagram page, said their presence at the forum with Tinubu had nothing to do with politics.

DJ Neptune finally reacts after Rema called him out for releasing his song without consent

Popular Nigerian Disc Jockey, DJ Neptune has reacted to the allegation by singer, Rema that he released an old song of his without his consent.

Rema, in a series of posts on Twitter, had noted that he begged his manager to stall the release of his song but that Neptune and his team still went ahead with their plan.

Sharing his side of the story in a statement, DJ Neptune said that he is not upset with Rema because it was all a misunderstanding and lack of communication between the singer and his management.

The celebrity producer cum DJ insisted that he followed due process before releasing the said song.

Neptune shared a copy of the statement via Instagram with the caption;

”I would like to categorically state that I am not in anyway upset with Rema as it is obvious that proper information was not passed across to him through his available channels, and as a respectable human being, I only felt it was just normal for me to follow due process in anything I do and that was the step taken.”

Why I joined EndSARS protest last year – Wizkid opens up

International Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun better known as Wizkid, has spoken on why he lent his voice to the #EndSARS campaign last year.

In a new interview with Vogue UK, the singer also discussed his recent tour, being a father and world domination.

Wizkid revealed that he’s always vocal about political injustice being meted out on Nigerians so that there can be visible progress in the society.

Speaking about his upbringing in Surulere, Big Wiz said;

There are no amount of words I can put together to make you understand what Lagos is, to explain the hustle, or the political injustice, the strength of the people or the number of amazing creatives.”

On why he felt the need to speak up and join the EndSARS protests in October 2020, the Grammy-winner said;

”It was very important for me to be direct and vocal because I’ve always been direct and vocal about political injustice in Nigeria To see that conversation happen and know that we’re one step forward from where we used to be, that’s amazing to me. And there’s no question I’ll keep speaking out loud.”

In October 2020, waves of protests rocked different cities in Nigeria and abroad. Wizkid who was in UK at the time, joined the Nigerians protesting in London.

Burna Boy emerges most streamed African artiste for 2021

Nigerian Dancehall star, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has become the most-streamed African artiste globally on the popular music streaming platform, Deezer.

The announcement was made by Deezer via their Twitter page on Friday, the 27th of November 2021.

Burna Boy has had quite an amazing year as he won his very first solo Grammy Award earlier with his Twice as Tall album.

CorrectNG reported days ago that he was again nominated for the 2022 edition, making it his third consecutive Grammy nomination.

The African giant has been nominated in the category of “best global music performance” for a song titled “Do yourself,” with Angelique Kidjo.

Deezer announced Burna Boy as its Most Streamed African artiste globally for the year, while sharing a video of the singer.

”@burnaboy is the top-streamed African artist on Deezer globally in 2021.
