Actor Gideon Okeke laments tough working conditions in Nollywood

Former Tinsel actor, Gideon Okeke in the early hours of today, March 9 spoke about the tough working conditions in Nollywood.

According to the ex-BBNaija star and movie actor, the Nigerian movie industry needs to start compensating it’s workers properly.

Nagging on his social media page, Gideon said Nigerian actors are paid “peanuts”, the food is “whack”, and working conditions are “slave-like”.

Speaking further, Okeke admonished his followers never to be envious of actors. The actor went on to state that everything is packaging as they are not necessarily living their best lives.

DJ Cuppy claims she is underrated, undervalued in the industry

Renowned Nigerian disc jockey and entertainer, DJ Cuppy disclosed in a recently posted excerpt on her Instagram stories that she is underrated and undervalued in her industry.

DJ Cuppy real name Florence Otedola is one of the most popular disc jockeys and recording artiste in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Sharing an excerpt from an interview on Tuesday, March 8, a day set aside as International Women’s Day, she mentioned that women have to work twice as hard as their male counterparts to receive recognition.

The billionaire heiress also added that women need to be strong in order to survive in male dominated fields.

Going into a male-dominated space, you have to have zeal and be strong. Women have to work twice as hard to get half as much done. Compared to my male counterparts, I ‘m still underpaid, undervalued and according to them, I have a particular aesthetic which I fight to this day,” she said.

Singer, Skiibii trolls Buju over his new stage name ‘BNXN’

Nigerian singer, Skiibii has trolled his colleague, BNXN formerly known as Buju over his recently changed stage name.

CorrectNG reported few days ago that Daniel Benson who was popularly known as Buju, officially changed his stage name to BNXN.

The fast-rising artiste, in a tweet, noted that his new name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’. He also said the change became necessary after he was mistaken for Jamaican singer, Buju Banton.

He wrote; “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’.”

Reacting to the development, Skiibii took to his Twitter account and shared a photo of popular cigarette brand, Benson and Hedges with a dreadlock hairstyle on it similar to that of the Lenu crooner.

Nigerian clergywoman, Funmilayo Adebayo nicknamed Mummy G.O, has revealed that she has N11 million proceed from illegal businesses in her bank account which she is not willing to spend.

Speaking in church, the controversial preacher said that she would rather beg on the street than spend the millions in any of her bank accounts.

Recall that Mummy G.O revealed recently that before becoming born-again she was into Cocaine business and other illicit trade that earned her millions.

Nigerian singer, Abbey Toyyib Elias also known as Skiibii has spoken on how the roles of money and love in relationships are intertwined.

The ‘Baddest Boy’ hit-maker opined that the existence of wealth gives a relationship a stronger foundation.

According to Skiibii, though money does the work of making a relationship stronger, love ends up getting all the credit.

Nigerian singer, Buju changes stage name to ‘BNXN’

Nigerian singer-songwriter, Daniel Benson, who was known professionally known as Buju, has officially changed his stage name to BNXN.

The fast-rising artiste took to his official Twitter page to announce the change, while noting that his new name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’.

In a video announcement he shared on Thursday night, the name change became necessary after the singer was mistaken for another Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton.

The tweet reads; “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’.”

According to the tweep with username user @thepoetpreneur, the groom-to-be was not comfortable with the fact that his fiancée only listens to her spiritual father.

He further revealed that no other person could control the lady’s action not even hee biological mother

The dogs named Dudu and FunFun turned 1 on February 17, 2022 and the celebrity DJ took to her official Twitter page to wish them a happy birthday.

Cuppy pampers the dogs and treats them as if they were humans, she even created Instagram page for them to ‘interact with fans’

Tems set to headline UK Festival alongside Lil Wayne

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi professionally known as Tems, has been slated to headline a UK Festival alongside Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Wayne.

Also, young Nigerian music star, Rema and other British and American artistes would mount the stage at the upcoming Strawberries and Cream Festival in UK.

The Damages hit-maker expressed excitement at being given a spot to perform alongside some of the entertainment’s best at the Festival which is set to take place from June 17th to June 19th, 2022.

Davido’s aide, Israel DMW crashes his new car in Edo

The logistics manager to Davido, Israel Afeare popularly known as Israel DMW has been involved in a car accident in Edo state.

Recall that Israel was recently gifted a Toyota Venza by his boss, Davido and he was over the moon.

According to reports from the scene, his new car was involved in a head-on collision with another car.

Singer Trey Songz sued $20m for alleged r*pe

American recording artiste, Trey Songz has been sued by a woman for allegedly molesting her an*lly and she is demanding the sum of $20 million.

According to the suit filed by the lady with the alias Jane Doe, she had a consensual s3xual relationship with the musician before the alleged molestation on March 24, 2016.

Doe said Trey invited her to a house party in Los Angeles, where he invited her upstairs for what she believed would be consensual s3x.

She claimed in the court document obtained by TMZ that “Trey repeatedly asked her if he could “get that a**” on the way upstairs … to which she says she repeatedly told him “no” and to stop asking.

“Trey’s demeanor changed upon entering the bedroom”, she said. She says he threw her to the ground, ripped her pants off, pinned her down face first and forced his p*nis into her an*s without her consent.”

She claimed that she begged the music star to stop and tried struggling with him but was overpowered.

Doe said someone entered the room and left almost immediately as the music star continued to molest her.

She claimed she left the house after Trey finished assaulting her and was taken to the hospital by the Uber driver who felt she was distressed.

Zambian woman says Tekno’s song made her get pregnant, demands child support from singer for impregnating her with his music

A Zambian woman identified as Rita Mwayanda has stated that she is demanding for child support from Nigerian recording artiste, Tekno for getting pregnant while listening to his music.

According to Mwayanda, when Tekno, real name Augustine Miles Kelechi released his hit song ‘Pana’, she was so excited and slept with a man, which subsequently resulted to a pregnancy.

She mentioned in the statement that she is calling out the singer because it is his responsibility to take care of her child.

Singer Davido fulfills promise, doles out N250m to orphanages nationwide (See list)

Nigerian recording artiste, David Adeleke better known as Davido has fulfilled his promise to disburse N250 million to selected orphanage homes across the country.

The popular musician gave the update on Tuesday evening in a statement released on his Twitter platform.

It would be recalled that the DMW lead vocalist raised N200M over 72 hours after he shared his account details on social media during his birthday in 2021.

He later revealed that he added the sum of N50 million to amass the largesse to a total of N250 million in November 2021.

In a statement released via his Twitter page on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the music star thanked the committee that was set up to disburse the funds.

Since its inauguration, the members of the committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of the documented and verified orphanages,” part of the statement read:

He went on to reveal that the entire funds had been disbursed to 292 orphanages across the country.

Nollywood actress, Oma Nnadi has stated on her Instagram stories that it is not ideal for parents to admit their 1-year-old kids into school.

She mentioned that it was pointless for 1-year-old babies to go to school and the reason behind it should be questioned.

She made this known following reports of a 19-month-old baby in Delta state that died after he was flogged mercilessly by his teacher.

Rapper Kodak Black suffers gunshot wounds at Justin Bieber’s afterparty

American rapper, Kodak Black real name Bill Kahan Kapri has been confirmed to be among the four people who were at the afterparty of Canadian recording artiste, Justin Bieber on Friday night.

A couple of days ago, Ripples Nigeria reported that four people were shot at the afterparty of Justin Bieber after he finished his concert in Los Angeles, USA.

Witnesses at the scene and the Los Angeles Police Department disclosed multiple rounds were fired at Kodak Black and the all-male victims aged–19, 24, and 60 who were involved in an altercation before the shooting.

It’s been reported that another person was injured during the altercation.

In the video published by the online platform, TMZ, Kodak Black was seen taking photos with his fans before the pandemonium was instigated.

Several suspects remain at large with the Los Angeles Police Department identifying the perpetrator(s) as black males who fled the scene southwards.

Police are refusing to divulge further information that could hinder leads.
