Police looking into Tiwa Savage’s petition against Davido- PPRO

The police are looking into the petition by Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, over alleged bullying and threat to her life by Grammy nominee, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Wednesday in Lagos.

“I can confirm that we received the petition. We have begun an investigation,” he said.

Ms Savage in the petition dated January 9, addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr Adegoke Fayoade, accused Davido of uttering disrespectful words in reaction to a post which included herself and the singer’s Baby mama, Sophia Momodu’s Instagram story.

The singer explained how she expressed disappointment at Davido’s threats and reminded him of how she stood by his family, especially when he lost his son.

She however claimed to have thereafter received calls from mutual connections seeking to know what she did to upset Davido and also questioning her relationship with Sophia.

The petition read in part, “I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation involving myself, and Adeleke.

On December 23, I made a post which included myself and Sophia Momodu’s Instagram Story- a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and Adeleke sent messages to my manager who’s also part of his management team that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very đisrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person.

“I responded to Mr David Adeleke’s message and told him not to reach out to me, especially as I feel like I have been there for him and his daughter, Imade, and more importantly when he lost his son.”

Ms Savage further said that the actions of Davido were unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat to her rights to life, privacy and dignity as guaranteed in Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended),

According to her, the act is beginning to feel like some form of online and offline harassment not just to her but also to members of her team.

“The actions of Mr David Adeleke are unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat to my rights to life, privacy and dignity of my person as guaranteed in Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

“And are also in contravention of Section 24(2)(a) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015. I, therefore, would like to make this complaint, and to state that in the event that anything untoward or harmful were to happen to me or any member of my family, I will like the members of the Nigerian Police Force to hold Mr David Adeleje responsible.

“I am available to answer any questions or provide any additional information regarding this matter,” she said.

Tiwa Savage petitions police over Davido’s threat to her life

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police over alleged threats to her life by her colleague, Davido.

In the petition dated January 9, Tiwa Savage accused Davido of “uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words” to her following her Instagram post featuring his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, on December 23.

The “Ma Lo” crooner said Davido claimed she “taunted” him for hanging around Momodu, knowing they were not on good terms.

“On December 23, I made a post which included myself and Sophia Momodu on my Instagram Story- a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and MR DAVID ADELEKE messaged my manager, who’s also part of his management team, that I should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person,” she said.

Tiwa Savage claimed she replied to Davido, asking him not to engage with her, considering her past support for him, his daughter and when he lost his son in 2022.

“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor.

“He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to ‘be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up,” said Tiwa Savage. She said Davido’s actions “are unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat” to her “rights to life, privacy and dignity” of her person.

The singer added, “This is beginning to feel like some form of online and offline harassment not just to me but also to members of my team.”

She urged the police to “hold MR DAVID ADELEKE responsible” should anything happen to her and her family members.

Davido has yet to respond to any of the allegations. Tiwa Savage’s petition comes a day after her ex-husband Tee Billz called out Davido for allegedly disrespecting his family.

‘Parasite’ actor Lee Sun-kyun found dead — Report

South Korean actor, Lee Sun-kyun, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite”, was found dead Wednesday in an apparent suicide, Yonhap news agency reported.

The actor was discovered inside a vehicle at a park in central Seoul, Yonhap reported, citing police.

Lee, 48, had been under police investigation over his alleged use of marijuana and other psychoactive drugs.

Once celebrated for his wholesome image, local news outlets reported that the actor was being dropped from television and commercial projects following the scandal.

A graduate of South Korea’s prestigious Korea National University of Arts, Lee made his acting debut in 2001 in a television sitcom titled “Lovers”.

He later won acclaim for his performances in a variety of roles, including a charismatic chef and a diligent architectural engineer who learns his wife cheats on him.
