The Nigeria Army yesterday released the list of successful candidates for its Short Service Combatant Course 47/2021 and Direct Short Service Commission 26/2021.
In a statement by the director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sagir Musa, the Army said that the names of the successful candidates had been uploaded to the Nigerian Army Recruitment Portal.
The statement noted: “This is to inform the general public that candidates who were successful at the SSC 47/2021 and DSSC 26/2021 pre-selection examination conducted across the country on 14 November 2020 have been shortlisted and published on the Nigerian Army Recruitment Portal.
“The portal can be accessed on https://.recruitment.army.mil.ng/.ms/shortlisted from 12.00am on 10 January 2021. Candidates who sat for the pre-selection examination are strongly advised to confirm their names and other details from the portal and ensure they are shortlisted before reporting for the Selection Board. Details of items to be carried and other instructions for candidates are contained on the portal.

Irwin Rivera is being held without bail after allegedly stabbing his sisters on Jan. 7 as they slept in his home, according to online records and ESPN.
UFC fighter Irwin Rivera was arrestedThursday, Jan. 7 for allegedly stabbing his two sisters in Boynton Beach, Fla.
According to online records, the 31-year-old mixed martial artist has been charged with two counts of premeditated murder in the first degree. However, according to an incident report obtained by ESPN, he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder.
He was taken into custody by the Boynton Beach Police Department with no bond set.
Per ESPN’s report, a 22-year-old woman and 33-year-old woman were both found alive with multiple stab wounds and taken to the hospital. The younger woman suffered wounds to her head, back and arm, while the older woman was stabbed on her face, back, arms and hands.

Documents show that Irwin fled the scene but was later apprehended and confessed to police, “I killed my sisters.” Police say that the athlete, who used a “brass knuckle knife” in the alleged incident, told authorities he was compelled by a “higher power.” In the report, one of the sisters told police that the women were sleeping in Irwin’s extra room when they awoke to him stabbing them repeatedly with the knife.
Following the arrest, the UFC released a statement obtained by ESPN saying he will not be offered a fight at this time and that his management has since informed the organization that Irwin has “been exhibiting behavior consistent with mental health issues.”
The statement continued, “The allegations are extremely troubling and the organization is currently gathering additional information. The investigation is ongoing and any potential next steps including disciplinary action or medical attention will be determined upon the conclusion.”

DaBaby was taken into custody for alleged firearm possession by the Beverly Hills Police Department, two months after the rapper’s brother was killed.

A spokesperson with the Beverly Hills Police Department tells E! News that a security guard from the Gucci store on Rodeo Drive called authorities at around 5 p.m. after allegedly witnessing a group of men, one of which was described as having a “handgun in his waistband,” walking on the famous street.
The spokesperson further shares, “Police made contact with the group after they entered a vehicle and were preparing to leave the area. An investigation followed and a 9MM handgun was found in the vehicle.”
DaBaby, née Jonathan Kirk, was subsequently taken into custody for alleged possession of a firearm. According to authorities, he is currently being booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department and has not yet been charged.

According to a new report by The Daily Mail published Thursday, Jan. 7, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s lawyers say they intend to use the allegation as part of their efforts to appeal British High Court judge Andrew Nichol’s decision in Depp’s defamation case against The Sun. In that case, Nichol sided with The Sun, arguing in his decision, “Her donation of the $7 million to charity is hardly the act one would expect of a gold-digger.”
In a statement to E! News, the Aquamanactress’ attorney Elaine Bredehoft confirms her client has yet to fulfill the $7 million pledge she made to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, citing financial reasons.
“Amber has already been responsible for seven figures in donations to charitable causes and intends to continue to contribute and eventually fulfill her pledge,” Bredehoft explains. “However, Amber has been delayed in that goal because Mr. Depp filed a lawsuit against her, and consequently, she has been forced to spend millions of dollars defending Mr. Depp’s false accusations against her.”

She claims, “Mr. Depp’s effort to plant stories in the media criticizing Amber for not yet fulfilling all the donations she pledged to charity is yet another desperate attempt to divert attention from the UK Court’s findings relating to allegations of Mr. Depp committing domestic abuse and violence.”
Following Judge Nichol’s decision, Depp was asked to exit his role as Grindelwald in the film Fantastic Beasts. While he’s no longer starring in the Warner Bros. film, The Hollywood Reporter wrote at the time that Depp will still receive the full salary for the project.

Amber denied the allegations, with her attorney claiming to E! News that Depp was trying to “silence” her.

Dr. Dre is currently being hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm
Dre suffered the aneurysm on Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU, where he remains as at today.
Our sources say the 55-year-old music mogul is stable and lucid, but doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests.
As you know, Dre is in the middle of a very contentious divorce with his estranged wife, Nicole. As we reported, Nicole wants $2 million a month in temporal spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees, but Dre says he’s been paying all of her expenses so the $2 million demand was outlandish. He also says the attorney’s fees are outrageous since her lawyers have only been working on the case for a few months.
And, as we reported, Nicole wants a judge to reject the prenuptial agreement she signed in 1996, claiming Dre ripped it up early on in the marriage. Dre strongly denies that.
There’s a hearing Wednesday in downtown L.A. on both issues. Obviously, Dre will not be attending and we’re assuming the judge will continue the matter.
